Javier is an amazing professor. His UGS class was very interesting. He's hilarious and an interesting lecturer. He's generous with grading as long as you're learning. Does 8 "pop" quizzes but he announced every one of them ahead of time. One long essay that's not bad at all and an easy final. A lot of reading but it's not too much.

great professor, funny guy. 5 quizzes, takes the best 4. ****final, lets u use notes (so take some) u can just read the books and not really go 2 class b/c the quizzes r on them BUT not recommended. in class he discusses everything so u'll know wat will b on everything rather u just guessing

He is SO funny! I LOVED his class! It's easy, as long as you do the readings then you'll get a good grade. Take notes when you read, because in my class he had open NOTE quizzes. He's an all around awesome professor, I recommend this class to everyone!

Open notebook tests which are very easy as long as you pay attention in class. One of the greatest professors I have ever had. Very entertaining, funny and intelligent lectures. Def reccomend anything he teaches!

this is an interesting class....lot of reading involved, but he does go over it all in detail during class. Plus you can use your notes on the exams (not the quizzes though), so it pays to come to class! Definitely an awesome professor!

Pop quizzes, a midterm and final. Tests are open note. His class is always entertaining and there are no surprises on the test - he tells you what to focus on. There are two opportunities for extra credit. As long as you read the books (and there is a lot of reading!) and go to class you should get an A with no problem. Take notes on the books.

very easy class. general overview given about the various texts in class. know the points about the texts that are constantly repeated because they will be the points addressed on the exams. quizzes given in class so attendance kind of necessary. simple exams- some open book.

I loved this class...it was interesting and pretty easy. It was very hard to get an A though because 95 is an A. Must read to get the A. I got lazy at the end and didn't read the last two books, but he goes over what you need to know...those details he doesn't go over that are on the tests screw you if you don't read. take the class!
