Jean seems very detailed and smart, but she is VERY condescending to students who seek feedback. There were times in the class where she actually laughed at students' questions. Her written feedback was overly negative. She would benefit from both humility and the use of positive reinforcement. Don't take her class.

Comment:

Good at what she does. If you plan to give her grief or already think you know everything, don't take this class. If you want to learn something, I highly recommend her. She is passionate about linguistics, and very understanding about late work and people falling behind. Encourages questions and discussions.

I do not recommend this teacher to anyone interested in languages. I wanted to be a linguist, but she kinda killed it for me. She teaches my class like we're babies and is not really organized in some things. If you don't like being treated like a 5-year-old, don't take her class.

What I like about her is that she always checks up on her students individually to let them know how they're doing. She is very involved with her students and program and is open to student suggestions. She is constantly aware of improving herself as a teacher in good ways knowing that she isn't perfect.
