I took Prof. Kaufman at CU Boulder, where she was teaching Deviance in U.S. Society. Generally her lectures are pretty dry, but she's very nice and seems to really know her stuff. The book is pretty necessary to really get it, though. I did enjoy getting to do class discussions that basically just explored various topics within the field.

Really nice woman! Cares about her students, will help you anyway she can, and gives easy tests. She is also one of the few teachers I have had here at WCU that actually goes over her study guide with the class. TAKE HER!

She is hard to follow in class and seems really absent minded a lot of the time. However, if you talk to her in her office she makes way more sense. She really tries to be a great teacher she just has so much she wants to say it gets a little confusing.
