She's amazing! I look forward to her classes. She's a brilliant person and cares for all her students, making sure to know everyone's names. She listens to everyone's opinions, and while she may not always agree, she always accepts their thoughts with an open mind. She makes classes fun and engaging. Excited to take her again next quarter!

Comment:

Took her Winter '19. Really caring, understanding, & willing to listen to what you have to say so it's easy to participate in her class. There are a few books to read in EWRT 1B & a few essays as well, but nothing impossible. The books aren't too long either so they're not difficult to read. Exams are in the form of essays and homework is doable.

Comment:

One of the most caring, lovely professors Ive had here. Engaging, stimulating, open-forum discussions. Was receptive, welcoming of what students had to say. Even when someone had an awful take, she was very diplomatic (almost to a fault). Loved several stories from the readings and opened my eyes to the merits from ones less immediately enjoyable.

Jill is the best! Took her for summer and it was a breeze. She is very passionate about her classes and is caring about your opinions. Lots of ready, but is a really easy class. She gives many opportunities for extra credit. Would take her again if I could!

I wish I could take Jill's class every quarter! She's so fun and so sweet and caring. She wants you to get an A, and she will give you every opportunity to pass, you just gotta put in the work. As long as you show up and provide some kind of insight into the text (there's no wrong answer) then you're set. You won't regret taking her class trust me.

She's the absolute best! Her class was easy, but I wouldn't have enjoyed it so much if it wasn't for her funny quips and upbeat attitude. Beware she isn't any pushover either, so you jerk her around she will not like it. Just take the time to read the material and give any feedback, and you'll get a good grade. Would take her again in a heartbeat!

Best instructor I ever had in my entire education life. She is very good and clear about new learning idea. Great lectures with lots of fun and group activities. Pretty easy grader. Most important is this, she understands student's situation from student's perspective. I learn lots of new writing technics from her. Very very very helpful.

Wow Because of her, I am writing this rating for the first time. I really want to say that she is really kind and inspiring us all the time and I really like her positive way of thinking. She is smart and gives you some opportunities for extra credit. Good teacher. Want to take her class again.

I love this teacher, I am not even done with the quarter but I am already in love with this class. We have five short books. Seemed a lot at first but really it all flows together! We have 3 major papers, one research final paper. she is great at giving helpful, positive, tangible feedback. if you can take this class, DO!!!

Jill was one of the best English professor. Her lectures were amazing and really helpful not only for corse but for outside of course too! IT was really easy A class if you do all your work! essays were not that bad! shes beautiful person inside and outside! I would highly recommend her! SHESS THE BEST TAKE HERRRR!!!!

Very sweet teacher. She goes out of her way to make sure you are doing well. One time I was sick and had to leave early, so she texted me information and made sure I was okay. Class pacing is a bit slow and easy. The reading pace is decently paced, but the discussions are very easy to follow. If you pay attention the class should be a breeze.

The BEST Teacher PERIOD. Actually cares about her students and gives you multiple ways to contact her when you need help. She is a wonderful teacher and will make sure you understand what she teaches! She is a total mom when it comes to lectures(don't miss the third week haha) but a total GOAT (greatest of all time) for everything else! +GORGEOUS!

Jill is awesome! Really nice person. Took this class over the summer and it was intense but manageable. Lots of reading. Not a blow off by any means. Work hard and participate in class and you will get an A. Midterm and final exam are the only tests. Lots of EC opportunities!

Strongly recommend everyone to take her class. Although she requires more reading as compare to the other lecturers, her class will makes you enjoy reading and you won't want to skip class because she is so sweet. She takes her times and make sure she give everyone in the class constructive feedback!

By far the best teacher I've ever had. She has an amazing policy in which you never have to turn in a written assignment unless you have received your previous written work. This really helps because you are then able to see the mistakes you've made on your previous assignment and are able to improve for the next one. Passionate. Understanding.

I took her class in 2017 spring quarter. Jill is just amazing teacher! love her class! we do some discussion about the books that we read and write essays about it. Her class materials are really helpful and your writing skills would improve for sure. she is really caring, so if you feel stuck, she will definitely help you! TAKE HER CLASS!
