Comment:
Very opinionated and shows it in class. Also his opinions are very conservative. On more than one occasion I felt like I needed to report him because I took offense to some of the things he said. He still teaches the way he probably did when he started years ago, his information is not up to date. Harsh grader, and not clear.

Very good teacher. Very opinionated but means well. I had no problem with this class. It was fairly easy as long as you take notes and pay close attention.

I find Mr Hartz to be a very knowledgable, very helpful teacher. He is very good at identifying those among his students who are there for the wrong reasons, or won't take the class seriously. If you are trying to skate by with an "easy" class, don't take this professor. If you want to learn something, this is the place to be, for sure.

Incredibly smart man. Not the class for someone trying to slide through a gen ed. Regardless of what is said above he will always repeat main points from lectures you need to know for essay questions. Attendance is a must as well as taking notes. If you come prepared and do the reading, you will gain immense amount from his teaching style.

There are 5 tests worth 20 points each and a paper worth 10 points for a total of 110 points. The tests are take home but can be challenging. As long as you read the book and pay attention in class you should be fine. His way of teaching made me retain more stuff than a class that has a lot of assignments and tests.

Great guy, great teacher. Had a lot of fun in class and he slips good life lessons in. Test are take home, but not so easy. Over all, I enjoyed class, earned a high mark and would take him again. No extra credit, so be on your game.

His class is borderline suicidal. All he does is lecture, but he is all over the place and doesn't repeat anything he says. He put in life lessons when ever he can but doesn't help or explain anything!! Tests are take home, but are not that easy. And the class is only worth 110 points so if you get anything wrong on the test you will fail the class

I enjoyed his class, learned a lot.He slips in life lessons for the young students.Take notes, even record. His test are take home, but not as easy as it may sounds.I did a lot of reading, and note taking to receive a high mark. Over all, good guy who seems to care. No extra credit, so be on your game for his class. I would take him again.

Right-winger who slips his beliefs into lessons. Take notes!!! Test answers are all from the book (or google...[it's a take home]) BUT the test essays are from in-class lectures. This man is borderline OCD with how to turn tests in. He wouldn't accept my test because it wasn't stapled properly even though I explained it was too thick to staple.

Good guy but bad teacher. He defiantly has experience in the field he teaches so the stories he has to tell are interesting to say the least. Even though he knows what he is talking about it is IMPOSSIBLE to take any kind of decent notes in his class which causes a problem because all of the test are base off of the notes. I recommend a diff. Teach

I have him for general psych and he is so hard! Its an all lecture test, nothing is from the book. All your tests are take home and are impossible to get a good grade on. The essays on there are all based on the lecture and he leaves no comments on your test/essays. Plus you never get it back to see what you did wrong. SO FRUSTRATING!!!

This professor had hard tests, and he does lecture the whole time, but he will repeat things, and he allows you to records the lectures. The tests are based entirely off of the notes in class, so attendance is a must. The research paper can be difficult, because he does not give you much guidance, but you get to pick your topic.

This is a great teacher. He understands a way to seperate the slackers from the students who take their education seriously. I am currently taking lapeer class and believe he cares about your knowledge and only test on what you know. He dont test on anything he dont tell you, lectures for class but book is critical for reading chapters. Teacher A-

Very hard to follow, all over the place. Tricky test questions. Class notes are a MUST 4 exams. Definately has his class favs! Wants participation but then makes u feel inferior when its not the answer he wants. Don't like that u can't keep the test for future reference and will only bring test results to class once,so u can't review grade if absent
