Comment:

Pretty much made the class so that the interaction between professor and student is minimal, but that's how online classes are. He responds within a reasonable time to emails, and if you read and watch the narrated presentation you'll get an A.

Comment:

Do not take this Professor. He does not care about students. Really difficul exams with 50 questions and not review. If you ask a quetion in class he does not resolve it, he says it is too long, but students have 3 minutes to resolve questions like that on the exams.

It is like the third time I try to post over here. Do not take this professor, unless you are Kamikaze. I took him once and not satisfied I took him again. Both online and physical class are very hard. He is very picky with turning assignments on time, and he gives A LOT of homework. He reads off the slides and his classes are long and boring.

Comment:

VERY tedious class, but it's easy. Everything is straight from the book which you will have to read. I spent 4 hours a week completing the modules. There's no exams, projects, papers etc only the modules. You can post questions on Canvas and the professor will respond in a day. He's nice. He can't do much about modules and material being awful.

I only had one choice for an online 3140 course. At a huge school like FIU this is disappointing. How do you get paid to basically connect your online site to Cengage then walk away? Its's all cengage, nothing to help buffer, no discussions or test, just TONS of Cengage work. If you have a question or need help, good luck finding it.

There are 3 exams that count for 75% of the total grade. HW counts for the other 25% is done online using Cengage. I kid you not when I say that the HW will take between 60-100 hours to complete. Do no take this professor if you aren't willing to really put in the effort and work for your grade. Also this should be James Keys

I took this class online thinking it wouldn't be too bad. Here's what you should know: The homework is extensive and difficult, no answers online and it takes days to complete one assignment. You have to REALLY know how to use a financial calculator. The exams are are ALL proctored (ProctorU) and make up most of your grade. DO NOT TAKE THIS.

I took the class online. You use cengage and you get so so so much homework! It takes 2 full days to finish one chapter worth of homework. Its those type of homework where one question has 100 parts. Also his exams are super difficult. I studied so much and could on get a B-

You are given two options: Raw grade (based on 3 exams worth 33 1/3 each) or accumulative grade (based on 3 exams worth 22% each, MindTap Assignment worth 24%, and Socrative worth 10%). Truth is, as long as you stay on or above the class average you will pass the class.

3 exams all of which he gives reviews for which are extremely close to the real exam. 15 chapters of material and all have 2 parts for homework- one set is problems from the chapter and the other is based on concepts. Homework is 25% of grade and exams make up for 75% of grade. Homework is due at the end of the semester (3 hrs per week min.).Study

Keys is very boring at lecturing. If you're taking him in the mornings, you're sure to fall asleep! Because of this you will have to teach yourself A LOT of content, so unless you're good at finance and accounting, you're gonna have a tough time. Best way to study for test is to focus on the review. lots of hw.

HW, Quizzes and Assignments are done through Connect; HW has unlimited attempts, quizzes have 2 attp. Personal Financial Plan due at end of semester: DON'T PUT OFF UNTIL LAST MINUTE. Pretty easy overall; assignments can be a bit tedious but most of it is common sense, especially for a finance major. Good for upper div. elective.

Too much work! He's not helpful. I sent him an email telling him the Connect wasn't working and he was really rude. There's a quiz, homework, AND interactive assignment due EVERY WEEK! the homework is pretty demanding. And you also have to keep up with the excel project (which is extremely time consuming) every week so you don't fall behind.

expect tons of homework, 3 confusing tests, yea he does give you a review, however the tests are completely different from them. groups assignments in class are boring and he does not give examples on how to calculate formulas, he only reads and bores you talking. do not take it!

Run away! Uses connect program for homework . Math Homework takes hours to complete. Weekly homework and quizzes that pile up. He doesn't care about students. No extra credit. 3 exams, two were closed book. Don't take this class. If you must, do the online class.

Attendance is mandatory. Super boring, but you have to go in order to do an in-class assignment as your participation. Homeworks are absolutely ridiculous! It WILL take you 3+ hours per week. Tests can be difficult since it comes from test banks, however the problems you have to work out are pretty simple. If you study & practice, you'll do well!

Horrible professor. Super boring, no explanation whatsoever, incredibly long and tedious homework, however he gives like 5 points to your final grade depending on the average of the class in the end so in my case I went from a B+ to an A- with three B's in his exams.

3 tests. Lots of homework online on Aplia. Study guide for tests, very similar to them. Gives you a sheet with all the formulas for the tests! If you do the study guide, you should pass the tests. Attendance consists of doing some problems in-class. He's quite boring, not a good lecturer at all. I got an A but learned 100% from the book + homework.

worst professor ever. Might as well taken a class online, this is the worst prof. I ever had in FIU. I am not graduating because of him. His tests are super confusing and does not care if the median of the class id C+ does not do extra credit, the homework is online and it takes you a week per chapter. study by yourself. DO NOT TAKE HIM!
