Prof. Gerlach is certainly not an easy professor, but this man knows his stuff, You will have to work for your grade. Expects every student to do the assigned readings (he will know if you don't.) Though he is a tough grader he will give you opportunities to improve your grade in the class.

Professor Gerlach is a hard grader. One or two points off of each question on an exam and you fail. You need to include exactly the detail he wants(which he doesn't tell you). He also hard-of-hearing, so has to walk (slowly) to you to hear your questions and responses. He also randomly calls on students.

I got an A in this class, however it was the hardest I've ever worked for an A. He is a tough grader and make sure to do the reading. All classes discussions are based on the reading, be sure to do the reading (if not the class will be penalized with a paper to write). Overall I learned a lo, but I don't agree w his style of teaching for grads.

The absolute worst finance professor at the university. He constantly makes mistakes during class with the material, and has to be the rudest professor I've ever had. His arrogance is unbelievable, and he doesn't even know that much about finance! DO NOT TAKE HIM!

I took Creativity in Management. It was a very disappointing class. If you are a career minded into investments. Prof G is great. He doesn't work well with students who work full time. His deadlines are unrealistic at times. He doen's explain his criteria for grading of oral class presentations. It was very disapppointing class.

This guy knows his stuff. If you want to learn the subject matter take him, but it isn't easy. He is very clear in his explanation of things but sometimes vague when it comes to hw. He will randomly call on people for answers, and will lightly scoff at you if you don't know the answer (because you didn't do the HW). Always available for xhelp.

I took 4 classes with Prof. Gerlach. He's a difficult teacher but he's fair. He demands that you try & that you're not a slacker. I learned A LOT from him. If investments is a field that you want to get into, I highly recommend you take his classes. If you just want to get an easy grade then he's not for you. He's by far my favorite teacher at SHU.

Not a bad class b/c you get out early, but he puts students down all the time for wrong answers (which everyone gets because he's the only one that knows the actual answers). If you do the homework youll get a B easily

There is no doubt about this guy's brilliance, HOWEVER, he expects you to know the subject as well as he and if you don't, he'll actually put you down and make you look stupid in class. This class is an elective so none of us HAD to be there, we chose to be. I don't recommend anyone taking this teacher. Unless you like to be made a fool of.
