Terrible lectures he reads over slides and tells stories. You can pass the class by going to recitations and reading the book. I got nothing from the lectures they were a waste of time. Homework was mastering physics which wasn't hard, but in class we never went over sample problems. Take at your own you have to teach yourself, Good Luck!

The class is fine. Dr. Miller is not a great lecturer, but he gives very good reviews for the exams (he basically gives out the questions that will be on the exams). The final replaces the lowest midterm, which is generous. If you really want to learn physics, tho, Dr. Miller is not the prof to take, but his class is relatively easy to get an A.

Must read the book and attend recitation by your own merits in order to do well. All the prior post of him giving the test questions out beforehand are false he unfortunately does not do that anymore. Lecture consist of him leaving out some parts that will be on the test and trying to derive equations that you do not need to know. Nice guy though!

He is actually just awful at teaching. He doesn't even know what was on his slides that he uses in class and used half of lectures to try and derive equations that we didn't need to know. The man has zero clue how to teach, take someone else if you want to learn anything at all.

What a good bean. Cowboy Miller is the best thing that could happen to your learning experience and is very willing to explain concepts 1 on 1 in 10 different ways until you get it. He's the best professor in the physics department, I don't care how inconvenient his class times are for your schedule, TAKE HIM. He's brilliant.

By far the sweetest professor in the world, he really cares about his students and will always help to anyone who asks. He always skipped lab and cut lecture short, so you will learn most through homework on MasteringPhysics. DON'T MISS THE REVIEW SESSIONS! He literally reads the test to the class and works out 'similar questions'.

I have never taken physics and got an A in this class. Got a 88 on midterm , 86 on final, 100 on hw, 80 on attendance. He gives the test a day before just record him and google the questions and you have the test. Took him in the summer. Did not learn anything.

I made a 40 on the diagnostic, 50 on midterm, 95 on homework, 85 on tophat questions. I studied alot and somehow came out with a B+ after the final. This class is not easy, tough concepts to grasp in short amount of time. His test are open notes so write as much as you can down.

He is a nice and kind professor. He is not so great at teaching probably because he knows too much to teach this simple physics but it is nothing any worse than any other professors out there in science department at UH so I can't complain. I tried to understand what he said at best and he was always helpful. He does care about students.

This man is too brilliant to be teaching an algebra-based physics course. He often veers off-topic and launches into highly advanced math just to prove a simple point. But from what I've seen, he's the best of the UH Physics professors. He prepares you for exams quite well, but his grading criteria is very mysterious. 1 exam is replaced by final.

TopHat is used to check attendance so you don't have to attend class. Miller tells his students what topics will be on the test, but it is not very specific. One test is replaced by the final test grade if it is higher. Miller's lectures are boring and he doesn't say anything useful until the week of the test so people generally show up then.

Dr. Miller is a very good professor! He is very kind and his class is not that hard. If you just put in the time you will be more than fine! I really suggest going to his office hours and talking to him! You will get to know him and he will help you a lot.

I didn't learn anything lol. Go to the review session and you should be fine for the test because he goes over the whole test. 1 midterm, homework, 1 group project, 1 quiz, and final. I got a 100 on my hw, 66 on my midterm, 88 on my final, 100 on group project, and passed the quiz and got a A in the class. Never studied. I took him in the summer.

His bicep game is on point! I actually really liked Miller alot. He's probably one of the nicest guys I've met. He tends to over teach and elaborate on topics to where students do get lost. Really focus on teaching yourself at home and come to his exam reviews as these are invaluable! I made 100's on all of his exams. There's no reason not to!

In the first half, Dr. Miller was easily one of my favorite professors. He elaborated on the slides and he worked through a few homework problems. However, towards the end, he stopped going through homework and very little was relevant to the test. Nice guy, but disorganized. He lets you bring in your own formula sheet to tests (with diagrams!).

The physics professor was mostly incomprehensible when teaching. I learned little from this man. The professor promises that there would not be a certain chapter material in test, and then he puts it on the test! His tests are unreasonably hard and tricky, so do not expect to get far in learning physics with this professor.

Dr. Miller has a passion for physics that is unmatched by the other physics professors at UH. To top it off, he understands the rigor of the subject and gives lenience when preparing tests as compared to his colleagues.

He's very passionate about physics and his classes, and clearly enjoys his job. Very kind; open to questions; available. You will learn exactly how much you want to, whether that be a lot or a little. The final was a take home test; we were given about two weeks to do it and turn it in. Easiest A I've gotten in a long time.
