he is a great teacher, funny, and pretty lenient with his grading system. realize that you will have to read the book and put in time outside of class to do well, thats just the nature of physics.

Pan has a much different style of teaching than most people are used to, but he does actually try to help. He goes really slow at the beginning to get the core concepts. Unfortunately, then you have to rush to catch up at the end. Homework is 25% of grade and 61 to 81 is a B, 81 and up is an A. Go to recitation! He gives tests problems!

never follow the book. expect you know everything and read the book all by yourself. Only hand writes on the blackboard, but not that clear.

This class is hard, but professor pan does everything he can to make it bearable. Keep in mind you Do have to do your part (homework is lots of free points) Pan is nice and listens to students; he extended due dates for homework multiple times in multiple occasions. His tests are multiple choice, which makes them not as hard they could be.

Dr. Pan is helpful and replies to emails rather quickly. The class is not easy, and does take a lot of time outside of the class. The course covers 16 chapters(500 pages), so just don't expect everything to be covered in class. If you want to do well, I would recommend you read the chapter before the lecture. Good professor, difficult class, 81+=A.

Lectures are very helpful, and so is the homework. Do not ever miss a lecture and do each problem on every single homework. Tests are not hard on first look but be very careful, he's a hard grader.

Dr. Pan is the best physics professor I've ever had. He makes physics understandable. He also jokes around sometimes. He doesn't want to fail anyone...but he stresses that this IS a hard class. His exams are not bad if you GO TO CLASS!! Also, do the HW (there are solution manuals floating around online)

He has an accent but it's very mild. He goes VERY slow in his lectures and is easy to follow and learn. If you do all the homework problems the exams will be a breeze. He answers all your emails thoroughly and quickly. Excellent experience.

I didn't go to class the whole semester and pulled a C. Unlike other professors, Pan uses the examples in class and homework problems for his tests. Missing class was regrettable. Very helpful, nice, and funny. Definitely a professor you should consider taking.

Really good teacher, focuses on the subject and really makes you understand Physics. Tests aren't difficult at all if you pay attention and learn. Homework is a perfect balance between enough to ensure good practice, but not so much that you get burnt out.

Great Professor, wants you to learn and is willing to help. Test are symbolic(no numbers just symbols) but he makes it to where everything crosses out. Only gives one mid-term and a final, but if you do your HW the test are a breeze. Deserves a way better rating than what he has.

Like everyone says he is a good professor. The course is very difficult, so with Pan it is definitely a matter of putting in a lot of hard work. If you do you will succeed in the class. I didn't put in much work and barely squeaked by with a c-... So def, study hard and read everyone else's descriptions.

He gives around 10-15 HW per chpt. He doesn't give you 'many' hw problems because they will take you 'forever' to complete. Instead of giving many 'easy' problems (allowing the student to 'develop' their skills for that chapter, and then finishing off with 'harder' problems, so that you can 'test' what you 'developed') he just gives you all hard...
