Put down your cigars and take off your hats.. seriously he will go nuts if you have a hat on in class. Only three tests..or what not of that nature.. (inside joke)and a case book. Only problem is that if you mess up on one test you already have to think about dropping because theres no other points available. Otherwise he is helpful.

Oh O'Malley. He's very blunt, but you have to enjoy being around this ol' guy. He's intimidating at 1st, but he obviously loves what he does. 3 exams and a case book, which is due at the end of the semester. You present case problems in class so it prevents you from falling too far behind. Word of advice: Each case has 2 sides, present them both.

well as far as law goes the guy knows his stuff. His lectures make law seem like it easy an black and white. However, his tests are very hard and opened ended. There are only 3. If your not a natural born lawyer this class will be hard for you. I didnt pass and now have to try my luck with boller We need new law profs for students whoJustWantCredit

Confusing and unclear. He doesn't curve the grades and the tests are hard unless law comes naturally to you. You either know it or you don't.

O'Malley is a good prof. If you are choosing between him and Bollar def choose O'malley. He is very clear and teaches well. If you go to class every day and do all the case problems, not only will he not kill you but you will get an A in his class. Be careful though, always come to class, dont ware a hat, and do the homework, and he wont kill you:)

AMAZING. He is excellent. Very easy and clear to understand. Just come to class everyday and pay attention to the examples he gives and the subjects he talks about and you will do good. If you do this then it's very possible to get an A.

Expects a lot of effort and 100% attendance from his students. Got an average of 84 (that was the highest grade) so didn't have to take the final (top 2 don't have to). Only 3 tests in class. Pay close attention to case problems and you'll do okay.

I think he is a nice guy and a good professor, however he can be quitr intimidating at times. Is it true that he fails you if you miss one class? I have an absence due to ilness and i'm thinking to bring him a note form the doctor before the semester ends. I am affraid to approach him however because is is a bit tough when it comes to that subject

I don't know what some of these raters are doing in college, but O'Malley is awesome. A c if you're lucky? He doesn't collect HW until the final. Exams are on exactly what he covers. Read the book, do the cases and you get a good grade. That simple. Super nice and funny professor. Acts tough but obviously loves his students. We need more like him.

pretty much a love him or hate him guy. he has tons of interesting examples and stories, but some people think he's a bit full of himself. he's an old millionaire who just teaches for fun. i liked his lectures even though i didn't wind up doing as well as i would have liked in the class. he does care about his students, and whatnot of that nature

Tough professor, highly discipline one also. Better do your assignment and attend every class. He would occasionally gives his opinions and his experiences in classes. Pay extreme attention to cases and understand the concepts, his exams are essays and based on the cases.

Didn't particularly care for this class. Omalley ain't a bad guy, but the mandatory attendance thing is pretty irritating--he won't pass you if you miss ONE class. Tests are somewhat difficult as well. And having to present cases in front of the class sucked, but did prevent you from procrastinating until the night before the exam. Glad I'm done

If you have to pick the lesser of two evils (Omalley and Boller) take him. Though be advised that you have to attend every class and then he rambles on about random things. He needs to retire. If you want to pass his tests you better study A LOT. Good luck

J.D. O'Malley is the wisest man to ever walk on the soil of the earth. If Yoda were to be real, he would be Prof. O'Malley. People who complain don't like to go to class and listen to the stories and lectures. If you are like that you deserve to be yelled at by him because you are an idiot. By taking this class you will learn to be a better student
