Comment:

He is friendly, but often went on a tangent during class. Grading scale is out of line with many other professors. Very picky about specific writing technical format, sentence structure and grammar and not it seemed on ideas or content in the essays. It seemed like all the grading was based on that alone. He fails a lot of people.

Honestly, he's a great prof. You get what you put into your work. He does give clear feedback, and you need to proofread time and time again with your work. You have to give a great argument if you are writing something that goes against his opinion. Be clear and concise in your papers and MAKE SURE TO FORMAT PROPERLY.

John is a great prof but you really follow exact what he shows you because its what he wants to see in your essays. He is a tough marker but his lectures were very entertaining.

THE WORST CLASS I HAVE EVER TAKEN!! He is a good person but doesn't give an eff about you. You might like the first few classes BUT THEN IT WILL TAKE A bad TURN. This class did put a lot of stress and anxiety issues in me. I WILL JUST SAY DONT TAKE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!

Remember to cite! He loves pop quizzes. He loves to ramble on and on about things that really don't matter at all to reach a point that could have been said in one sentence. I decided to ignore the ratings on here and go for it anyways. Bad move. Easily my least favorite class and professor this term. If you can, avoid him.

If I could give him a 0 I would.... HORRIBLE. Gives everyone the same feedback. He is very rude and not helpful at all. Attending office doesn't even help because his feedback is the exact same every time.

Don't take his class that's all I wanna say. He's the worst professor at kpu. If you wanna learn only about ghosts and darkness then go with him. He's a very tough grader and don't explain things well. He want essays written according to his method which is ridiculous . He always give F to especially international students.

He seems to care and to enjoy teaching the material. However he mainly grades based on the MLA formatting, not really the actual content of the writing. So if you're good at MLA, this is a good course to take! He "shows" in class how he wants the paragraphs done, but that makes it harder to do it on your own bc in class he does it for you. Meh.

Worst prof at kpu. Marks super hard even. Even if you spent hours doing the essays it wont matter as he will still give you the same grade that you could achieve in 2 hours. Would highly not recommend unless you want to get it a bad grade. His unreaistic criteria and hard marking make for a rough semester. Super boring aswell

He's a good teacher. LOVES halloween, like loooooooovvveeess it. he likes you to have the work done exactly the way he does it which is fine if you can easily adust your writing to his standards. he usually gives you a guideline of how he wants his assignments done, so follow that and you will get an easy A

He wants stuff to be done his way. He want's the work done his way, which is practiced in class which is good for the assignments but even if you show him your work paragraph by paragraph and fix the errors, you'll still get it back with so many errors pointed out. He tries keeping the class awake, has some humor. Office hours are available

he wants the assignment to be written just the way he wants it, and when you receive your graded paper you will notice a lot of crossed out words with what he prefers. he is a little monotone which kind of makes you sleepy. in his lectures he covers every paragraph that you are going to write for your paper, which makes writing a bit easier.
