Comment:

Carl Whitney is a great Prof!! The class had weekly quizzes, which he would tell you what it is on. They also helped to keep you up to date with the material. He hands out fill in the blank notes for class that are GREAT for study material. Overall good prof. Labs for the course are a pain but again help you further understand the work.

Had him for BIO1100 and he was a really nice guy, very clear in his explanations and always willing to clarify certain things. His quizzes and tests are very fair and based on material gone over in class. No surprises. Be careful with word choice! Flexible schedule. Class was dull at times but productive and to the point. I would take him again :)

Weekly quizzes on what was learned in class (fill-in-the-blank notes) and in the lab. LABS ARE MANDATORY TO DO WELL!! He's a nice guy, his voice can make you drowsy at times, especially with the 8am class -_-. He's flexible and willing to reschedule tests. Would definitely take a class with him again. Theres a midterm, and the Final IS cumulative!

Carl Whitney is the best BIOL professor I've had yet so far. He's very understanding and if you don't know something he'll take a step ahead and explain to you what you need to know for the course. I love his lame sense of humour and he always try to make BIOL 1110 interesting. He's very fair and clear. Take him if you can!

The best prof in the world. Really understanding,and his lame bio jokes are so awkwardly funny. Weekly quizzes are basically straight from the class notes, attend class and there is no way you'll fail. Midterm AND final were both easy if you study his class handouts and generally do well on the weekly quizzes. My favourite science prof EVER!

whitney is the best bio prof iv had in all of my post-sec years!!!! iv gone to uvic and kwantlen and this guy is super helpful, clear and makes you want to get a good mark! he is the best bio prof in kwantlen..ud be lucky to be in his class. quizes every week, one midterm and a final..plus a lab final. he always outlines the important stuff! :)

Probably the best bio prof at Kwantlen! Notes are very straight forward and easy to understand. What makes him different from other profs is that he is very understanding of students' problems. If you cannot make a lab for example, he'll do his best to work it out for you. TAKE HIM! You won't regret it!

My first semester here, and hes already on the good list. He gives out quizzes every week which help you stay on track of what is going on in class. And his midterms are fairly easy...havent written the final yet...he is MUST MUST choice for BIOL 1110 and 1210. He make your life much easier. His class notes are so straight forward.

Carl is an awesome teacher! He's a character with a wicked sense of humour and an affinity for plant reproduction cycles. He's one of those teachers that will go out of his way to help you if you show genuine interest in the course. The course is great, not easy though. Be prepared to do a lot of memorization, and spend many hours in the lab!

He is an excellent teacher, class is boring but he is very nice and always looking to help you. Never condescending or stereotypical. However, he is a pretty hard marker, doesnt like to give out high grades and Im a TOP student. Suck up alot!!!
