You're graded every day on attendance so show up and get ready to take notes (or just sit on your laptop and shop). Fairly easy class, but that being said be prepared to do some work. He's a really nice guy and is interesting to talk to. He genuinely wants to help you understand the economy. Just go to his office hours and study. I'd take him again

This guy is the man. You'll be rolling off your desk with his witty comments throughout the class. This is by far my favorite economics professor I have ever had. He was the nicest professor, most well spoken and knowledgeable teacher. Would take him for any EC112 class again due to the fact that he focuses on learning instead of the tests.

Comment:
Took this professor on a whim due to the mixed reviews. His lectures are so dry that basically the entire sits on either their phone or laptop. The lecture content is completely irrelevant to the quiz questions. Half of the quiz multiple choice questions come from practice questions posted online, the other half... good luck. Don't recommend.

He is the man, all you need to do for him to get a 4.0 is show up. Might be boring but rips apart international kids if you listen to him. got a 60 something on the midterm but still got a perfect grade because I particpated

Very relaxed teacher that speaks with a low voice. Sit up front and raise your hand to particpate! This won't help your grade but help your understanding. Overall he doesn't really teach and should be kicked out if possible.

The most boring professor ever! Do not take him if you want to learn something. All he did in class is talking and talking about non-relevant stuff and if you want to ask him a quick question, don't ask it in person, you will waste half hour for one quick question. He is a tough grader and put his own emotion in grading students. Don't take him!!!

Okay, so he is a very interesting guy. If you like politics then you will enjoy this class because he literally just talks about that. He does not really help with economics at all but if you participate and get into some conversations it will be interesting. Yes they will be off topic but that brings your grade up cause he sort of curves all.

Easy 3.0 but basically not a real class, stay away if you can. Only good thing is that he doesn't teach so you can get away with doing no homework

I don't even think this guy deserves a 3.1 He deserves maybe a 1.5-2.0 because he doesn't help when you don't understand stuff and instead he just says you should have paid attention in class yet he doesn't talk about anything on the powerpoint for more than 1 minute. He is definitely not clear because he whispers with his british accent easy 3.0

Get ready to read because he doesn't teach. He gives a lot of random quizzes and does not say anything important during class. This class is basically pointless and avoid at all costs! I can almost already tell you your grade before you take it

Barely give tests, and barely knows what he is talking about. TRY TO AVOID if possible, Snyder is a much better option. Sad he ruins economics for many people every year.

Do not take this class unless you have no other choice! No one pays attention in class, he doesn't teach anything and you're basically on your own. Only way to pass is to know economics and read the textbook!! He fakes his grades and calls it curve Also if you like economics, he will make you hate it. Please save yourself the time/money/grade.

He is easy but a distant professor. If you engage him, you will do well. If he knows your name, that's usually a very good sign. Stay on top of the material for quizzes online (50% of your grade) but he drops the lowest one. I feel like he boosts everyone grades a bit. He's British, smart, and really boring. Nice guy, but a lazy professor.

He's very passionate about this topic, but the class is just very boring. Half your grade is made up of online quizzes taken both in and out of class. They aren't hard. Our midterm was supposed to be on paper, but was also online. All in all, a pretty good professor. Gotta love the accent, too.

Professor Shepherd is a very nice guy, and the work is easy enough if you study. However, lectures can be very boring if you don't have an interest in the subject. Nice guy, very smart, and will help you if you go to office hours, but can be confusing.

Although some find Professor Shepherd difficult, I did not think he was bad at all. One midterm, online, multiple choice. The final was half multiple choice half written. Easy participation. Can be a little boring due to his soft voice but overall explains material well. Got a 4.0 without studying for either the midterm or final. Def take. W

Honestly loved him as a person and he was so nice and will go over all the material with you, but if you are not willing to study for days on end for each of the three exams plus final you will fail. 25 multiple choice determine each exam grade. No homework. 10% participation grade. Loved his british accent though!

Comment:
SO BORING. I never skip class and I skipped multiple times. 4 "midterms" and 1 final--all multi choice so no flexibility with grading. No participation/quiz/hw grades so exams are weighed heavily. I can't stress enough how boring it was I'm attentive in class in general and I was constantly doodling during econ this semester. Avoid.
