Had no other choices so I took this class as a last minute decision ignoring all the horrible reviews here. Too bad all the complaints are true and I only knew after half the semester had passed. Midterm is irrelevant to what we actually studied in class and unreasonably hard. Dropping it as I am writing this review to avoid ruining my major GPA.

Terrible, the worst economics professor at Bentley. If there any chance you read this professor, please quit teaching. How can you put the minimum effort and just prepare literrally nothing for the class. Don't do any test preparation, taking random online test and make his study do it. Questions are vague, he doesn't even proffread the test.

Worst professor I've had for any of my major courses. Wastes time in class, test questions are very open to interpretation, whole grade based on tests/quizzes. if you have to take his class, just learn all the material on your own.

Ridiculous. Tests don't cover what you review in class, but your grading is 100% based off tests and quizzes. You have quizzes every single week.

This class was not the worst, but not the best. You are only graded on weekly quizzes, a midterm, and a final. The weekly quizzes always have a question or 2 that are really hard. Clarke is also arrogant and does not like when people disagree with him and will actually interrupt you while your talking. Outside of class, there is not too much work.

Worst Econ professor at Bentley. Avoid him. Makes the material a lot more difficult than it is and getting above a 3.0 will be a struggle.

He has a high opinion of himself, and revels in the fact that he's overly difficult. He can be quite condescending, and has a habit of calling people out during class if he sees them with their cellphones. I'm glad I took him as a Pass/Fail for my minor, because friends have told me that he ruined their major GPAs. I'd avoid by any means possible.

The material is not bad, but the professor makes the course much harder than it is. He has a my way is the highway type of attitude. Graded on complicated weekly quizzes and two hard exams. Does drop two lowest quiz grades and gives 5 extra points on course grade for doing outlines of each chapter. Overall, would not take him unless you have to.

Mandatory attendance, lots of busy work homework, lots of little quizes to make sure you read, always asks you not to use bathroom, not allowed to use computer in class, outraged every time he catches someone using phone during his boring lectures. Don't take if you want to be treated like an adult.

Clarke gives no study resources like powerpoints or handouts, the only thing you can study from are the notes you take in class. I found his lectures really confusing. He expects you to know everything about intro to micro and grades on only 3 things: a midterm, a final, and weekly quizzes (which are incredibly hard). Avoid him if you can

Clarke is definitely one of the smartest professors I have taken in Bentley. You must go to every class and take notes and you are bound to learn a lot! The tests are hard but if you are interested in the class then it is manageable. And do the chapter summaries!

He only grades you on three things: in class quizzes, which are brutal and worth 20% of your grade, and a midterm and a final worth 35% and 45% (also really challenging and long) of your grade. Extremely unforgiving professor and boasts about how hard he is. I mean he teaches well, but his grading policy really works against you.

Old-school professor and easily one of the smartest in his field for miles in any direction. Make sure you go to class and take very good notes because he tends to move quickly. Midterm and final are hard but the problems are just deeper applications of what he does in class. Do chapter summaries because he boosts your GPA by 5 points.

It is the class in bentley that I have most learned. His class is tough but HE IS SMART and Explains things incredibly well. Its not an easy class because he expects a lot from his students. Homework and quizzes every class. But believe me YOU WILL LEARN.

Horrible teacher typical econ prof. that justs draws countless graphs on a board and expects you to understand everything His tests are very difficult and there is a huge disconnect between the problems reviewed in class and those in the exams. only good thing is that he curves your grade if you turn in chapter summaries Definitely avoid taking him

I don't get the good ratings Clarke has- he's the worst professor I've had in 3 years. Classes are full of useless personal stories, he just throws graphs on the board with little explanation, and tests are exceedingly difficult. The only good thing is he bumps final grades up for doing the chapter summaries (only 2 quizzes in honors classes).

His tests are really hard but he has the most office hours I've ever seen and is always willing to help. Allows you to do chapter summaries that are completely extra credit and can bring your grade up a lot. Weekly quizzes that are directly off the lectures, if you pay attention this class isn't too bad.

Great teacher. The notes are really helpful, and his lectures are clear. The readings acts as extra credit, and supplement to his lectures. Focus on the notes for quizzes and tests, and you'll do fine. Very fair, and easy. The quizzes are easy if you take good notes. must attend class!

Professor clarke was a hard teacher; however i did learne a lot of things from him. He expects you to know alot of from what he teaches however, his stories about his divorced wife and new girlfriend are hard to over come once you begin his class; you can not pay attention to his white turtleneck sweater or it will dumb for looking at it.. he sucks
