Python Programming Course - Well organized and consistent, lectures and homework are thought out and build on each other as you need them to advance. Expectations on assignments are clear as is the grading metrics. Covered all material outlined in syllabus. Book used is not the easiest to follow. Excellent Instructor who cares about students.

Toutonghi is amazing! Before I took this class, I had absolutely no interest in math. Had to take for some prereq's but now I'm actually looking forward to MATH 142! He's incredibly helpful, and by going to his office hours, you can easily get an A. He is less patient in class, but during the office hours, he turns into a saint!

Toutonghi is very clear and helpful with math. He is available very often for office hours. Overall a cool guy who makes math fun even if its your worst subject. He'll call on people to help with problems but it benefits you. Tests aren't hard if you keep up with your homework.

At first I wasn't sure how to feel about Tongers. Then I grew to really love him as a teacher. Probably 10 hours of homework a week, but if you do it, you do well on exams

John Toutonghi is a really great guy. I'm awful at math and he showed a lot of interest in helping me learn the material. He's a dedicated professor who genuinely wants to see his students succeed. I still go visit him from time to time because he was a lifesaver with my math grade!

Super great teacher. I HATE math, but he made the material easy to understand. He can be kind of snarky if you get on his nerves, but as long as you put in effort, he's really nice! Definitely make use of his office hours if you are struggling.

Really good dedicated teacher who tries to be interesting/funny. He isn't a hard ass and can interest people. He will call on you randomly but he helps you through. He has open office hours and hw isn't due day of if you go to office hours. hes very helpful there. quiz every week and he gets agitated easily but briefly. Exams are long w/ lotsa stuf

I honestly can't say he's a bad teacher. He actually made math easy to understand for me and I suck at math! However, he is such a jerk and made class really tense and awkward sometimes. BUT I would recommend taking his class if you want a teacher who will make things easy to understand.

I hate math, and have actually had actually failed this class in the past. He really helped me get past my mental block, DEFINETLY use office hours, makes a huge difference and he will spend all the time you need with you until you get it. Can be a bit of a smart ass sometimes though.

Excellent teacher, take him if you can. Has office hours and will go over every single hw problem if you need it. Extremely helpful and straightforward, personable and funny as well. Brutally honest at times but only when necessary. Two tests, a final, weekly quizzes, and hw. Lots of grades so you can't tank your grade with one test.

Not graded on attendance but he notices when you start missing a lot of class. Has a sense of humor it is a relatively relaxed class. It takes a while to get homework and tests back, but the material on tests and quizzes is very easy. Homework is due once a week, often pushes back the due date. No midterm, calls on people not paying attention.

Excellent teacher. Clear and concise explanations. Always does examples of the material you will need to know and frequently checks in to be sure the class is following. Personable and funny, available for office hours, by far the best math teacher I have ever had.

He has been by far the best professor I've had...very helpful. Definitely use office hours because not only does it help but he gets to know you and it makes class a lot better. Go to class everyday and you will do just fine.
