Jon renewed my faith in professors at York. He not only takes the time to know you by name but takes the time to know your interests and helps to facilitate your learning in the appropriate direction. His lectures are informative but casual and very useful.

He is the best prof I've had at York, by far. Not only is he entertaining, helpful, understanding with due dates, and approachable but he has so much knowledge he's just one of those characters you want to be around so you can absorb more information. I highly recommend SOSC 3760 and any of his other courses, such as SOSC 3745.

Great professor, although is a hard marker and very difficult to get an A in the course especially if you have no background in Urban Studies. The students which excel in the course are almost all Urban Studies majors from what I found. That being said, their is no final exam, or mid-terms, or test, only ready quizes best 5 out of 8 marked.

Prof Caulfield is an amazing guy. He really cares about his students and really encourages you to explore what interests you, rather than forcing his own urban study interests upon you. In addition, he is very very flexible in terms of getting in contact with him...he is the only prof I have ever had who gives out his home phone number the 1st day

Comment:
One of the best teachers at York. Very friendly, easy-going, and approachable. Wants students to succeed, understand that each student has situations. Always plans and works with you to achieve goals. I think he once wore a Blue Jays cap to class. Knows EVERYTHING about Toronto. Field trips downtown, and presentations were fun and funky.

A very good lecturer: very well organized and clear on the concepts he taught. He didn't mark my work so I'm not sure how hard he marks; the class material, as a whole, was not too difficult to grasp, but it had its hard moments. He's not teaching this class anymore, but definitely recommended!

Most enjoyable class I've taken in the urb.st. program. Excellent prof...helpful, funny, encouraging. As long as you're happy with your project ideas, caulfield will encourage you all the way. fieldwalks in fall term were a BLAST!!!

Great Professor. One of the best professors i ever had. He is the kindest person who always goes that extra way to help students. However, he is a hard marker and very demanding of students too. I recommend any of his classes to all students at York. He should get a raise for his hard work.

He is an AMAZING GUY! His class was so great. He is challenging, yet not impossible. You want to go to class, and it is so much fun. He goes out of his way to help students. The BEST class I have taken in my 4 years @ York.
