Dr. Cannon is an awesome person. He really wants you to understand the material, and loves to answers any questions you have. He gives out handouts for each chapter which need the course book. If you follow them you won't have any problem getting a good grade! He also gives a bonus point option after each exam, and an extra credit assignment.

If you don't attend, you'll miss a lot of points from class assignments. His tests are challenging, but if you study and know how to apply what you learned - you'll do well. He LOVES sociology. He's incredibly educated and wants to help you. Take some notes in class! It's not lecture heavy, but writing the things he says helped me a lot on exams!

Dr. Cannon is one of the best professors I have every taken! He is truly compassionate for Sociology and educating his students. He offers plenty of extra credit throughout the course that I recommend doing even if you are doing well in the class. Attendance is crucial because he explains the handouts in lecture which are basically the test.

I hate to say it but the only thing i did not like was the exams are so confusing. He makes sure you know what you know. I learned soo much from his class than any other professor. He gives you all the opportunities to get an A and you are dumb not to take them. Don't complain later.

Professor Cannon is a very great man who really does care about his students. He truly wants everyone to be able to open their mind and think about social issues. Each class was forming groups and covering a specific topic. Unfortunately, I didnt find him helpful and struggled on the tests even when studying hard. Great guy, but wouldnt take him.

Professor Cannon is a very funny man who cares about his students. He wants everyone to understand sociology. Our classes were just getting in groups and discussing a specific topic. However, i did not find him helpful and struggled through every test even if i studied really hard. Luckily i passed most of them but i wouldn't take him again.

Comment:

Cannon is a gem of a person and an amazing professor. He's cool as hell. People make cracks at Sociology, but Cannon made me adore it. He knows his field well and encourages excellent, diverse debate. Not only is he very caring, but you can seriously write about ANYTHING in your papers as long as you make it relevant. I can't recommend him enough.

Had Dr Cannon as a replacement for the professor who was supposed to teach my summer class. I'm so glad I had him instead. I wasn't expecting to like the course interesting. He offers a lot of extra credit & his tests are straightforward if you pay attention. Would definitely take another one of his classes.

Dr. Cannon is one of the best teachers I've ever had. This was an honors class, and it was very difficult. However, I've learned so much about sociology, it was a good experience. He is a great instructor I always looked forward to his lectures, even in the morning. The tests are challenging, make sure you read the chapters in the book!!!

He is really helpful when you are struggling to understand the concept. You have to study every night for this class for like 3 hours and really work at it. He has a grading option for his tests and its so helpful. overall really good teacher but have to put in a lot of effort

Hilarious man. Easily one of my favorite teachers. He likes to have discussions with us even though sometimes we don't give in a lot of input back (It's our fault). Even when some students get rude, he continues to help no matter what. I swear, the guy's patience is unlimited.

Professor Cannon is a wonderful guy. His class was very engaging, discussions were always interesting. But there is a lot of studying. You need the text book and he gives very detailed study guides but it is a lot of information so don't study last minute. He does offer extra credit. There are 4 tests and one writing assignment.
