Great teacher. I heard that he is retiring this year which is a bummer, he was one of the hard teachers that you actually learned from. He was really helpful if you went to his office. Funny guy, in a dry humor way.

He is an awesome teacher!! The class it pretty hard, but he helps you, and always answers questions (except for when you ask a question that has ready been asked). He is hilarious and makes funny nerdy comments!! Really loved this teacher and would definitely take him again!

Really great teacher. Not easy. But really interesting and you will actually learn. If you struggle with English I would not recommend him. But if you were able to get an A in high school, then taking his class is a great way to expand yourself.

Joseph Minton is the worst English professor I have ever had. He grades ridiculously. He is extremely rude to his students and makes them feel dumb as dirt. He is so sarcastic to the point where you can't tell whether he is joking or serious. He doesn't care about anyone's feeling or lives. I wouldn't wish his class of my worst enemy. DONT TAKE HIM

He is by far the best literature professor in all of Texas. He lectures very clearly, and although some say the assignments are challenging, they really bring out the best in a student. I learned so much from Professor Minton in English 1301, I'm taking him again in English 1302, and will be on the lookout for any other classes he's teaching.

This is the most AMAZING TEACHER EVER!! He does not take crap, nor does he take late assignments. He gives meaningful feedback on the essays. If you are offended by sarcasm, do not take him. If you want a structured learning environment and really want to be challenged, he is the best teacher to take. I still can not believe I made an A.

*Accidently* signed up for the honors version of this class. Whoops!! I have a 4.0, was good in lit classes in high school, decided to stay. No quizzes, NO HOMEWORK!!! 3 papers, each a 1/3 of your grade. Come to class, do your reading, use your brain you'll be fine.

This guy really isn't a nice man. I didn't ever once hear him voice any emotion or feeling towards real people and their struggles, he seemed to only care for fictional characters in literature. He likes to embarrass students-I often found myself feeling sorry for my fellow classmates as he would call them out on being a minute or two late ONCE.

Minton is a strict teacher, but it's because he has to be to get anyone to do any work. He always explains what he is grading on, and while he does do several quizzes he is not cruel about them. He will not put up with the lazy or tardy, but he will definitely make your English skills better! His class will help in all careers!!!!

Mr. Minton is a tough teacher, but he will make you a better writer if you come to class on time, do your work, shut up & listen. He will help you but you are going to have to do the work. If you are sensitive & you like to come in late, not do the work, or expect to come with a bunch of excuses, he is not he teacher for you. He is a good teacher

He is the hardest professor i have to this day, you can put forth 150% effort, study, prepare and he will still give you poor grades. I have a 3.87 overall GPA, always make straight A's and made a C with him. To give my review credibility; I am a UT Austin pre-law student. I take core classes at LSC.

He is absolutely the WORST teacher I have ever had. He gave me back my first paper with NO grade on it. He gets annoyed if you ask him a question about an asignment, & tells you to refer to your sylubus. If you have him on your schedule, get it changed ASAP.

Good professor, but sometimes has an attiude problem. He tends to "growl" at the lazy and tardy.Almost every day he would utter "here is another quiz to improve your quiz avg.".These quizes were quite tough SO READ.
