Comment:

Worst class ive ever taken. You "Read the homework assignment" then "Turn in a paper of writing about the reading" every day. He reads the first sentence, and the last sentence of homework. Did not learn how to write essays from his class. Very boring professor, un-engaging, and rude to students. Essays are a waste of time. Don't take this class.

Mr. Smigelski is hands down the most rudest professor I have ever encountered, 1 page written responses are due every class and you must show up and STAY the full class in order to get credit.. I had a funeral to go to and he did not care.. However he is an easy grader just make sure you show up to every class and you'll pass

This is the easiest A you will ever get, but at the cost of showing up and listening to the most boring man and rudest too. The HRs were fine easy points but that meant no absences for all the points. The 3 papers were very easy and hes a nice grader basically turn in 3 pages for an easy A

It's a bit repetitive to do the HRs every class, but it motivated me to focus more on what I was reading. I find this teacher grades very easy on the essays, and it is nice because he allows you to write whatever you want, as long as it has something to do with the things talked about in class. There was no final exam which was great.

Hands down worst professor I have ever had. Very tough grader. He is very rude calls the work students turn in junk. Be prepared to read A LOT and analyze, quiz every class along with a one page summary of the chapters you read. If there are other class options available I advise choosing another professor. Should of listened to the reviews myself.

ENG7 Honestly, Smigelski has grown on me. He likes things a certain way and as long as you follow his directions you will pass. Be on time, do the reading and the homework and its an easy A. He is a tough grader on papers but it was a bit refreshing to actually be corrected. Warning, he doesn't have a filter so if you're sensitive, don't take.

Smigelski is absolutely the most disrespectful teacher I have ever had . He does not let you make up any assignment . I had serious health conditions and he still gave me Fs on hw . He also marks you down if you need to use the restroom at all during class . He treats the class like an elementary school course. He's hideous .

Currently taking his 122 class, and I deeply regret not dropping... Definitely buy the books he tells you to ahead of time because you'll start out fast. He is not specific on writing assignments. You have to go to his class for the quiz, but the remainder of the class is babbling. Not a fan, but a passable class.

If you're not good at grammar then I wouldn't recommend any foreign language students to take him. He doesn't care about your critical thing and does nit prep you for English 122. He has quizzes every day that are tough. In the beginning he doesn't grade in between, you either receive an A or a F

Energetic with a real passion for literature. Huge breadth of knowledge, often draws interesting parallels between disparate works/styles/genres. Does not suffer fools gladly. Low ratings must be because he doesn't let students play with their iphones in class. Seriously, the other students in my class were pathetic. Pray for the future.

Mr. Smigelski is not the easiest teacher. He doesn't really lecture. But one pagers are a must, every class there is one due. They are not graded but if you don't turn them in you lose points. He expects perfect grammar and punctuation in major papers. He is very nit-picky about your writing and will read and grade your papers very thoroughly.

Comment:

Not a good class. Especially if you are a second language learner this class will be real hard. He didn't even give us lectures. And he said that we weren't students because our writing was horrible. And that was the reason why we were in that class. I felt I didn't even learn anything.

He wasn't a bad teacher, but he definitely wan't a good one either. He doesn't teach much on grammar and writing, but he makes sure to grade on it. He goes off topic a lot and the books we had to read, to me at least, sucked. But honestly you don't have to read them to pass. Almost all writing is first person and personal opinion.
