Amazing and intelligent and cool woman. She made the class so relatable and interesting and fun. The things you learn are mind blowing and really opens your eyes. Best class I've taken at Rutgers. Only got a B+ because I didn't do the readings and failed all the pop quizzes lol

Great class. The subject material and readings can be a bit dense at times, but professor Ahearn is really helpful and genuinely wants her students to succeed. Attend lecture, take good notes, do the readings and you should have no problem with this course. Professor Ahearn is super nice and very approachable if you have any questions.

Prof is awesome. I took her class while her book was in editing so she just gave us files of her book so we didn't buy anything. Really interesting material and is a nice lady, although she expects you to pull your weight in class. Exams were pretty easy, you just need to study. Final paper wasn't difficult, you can make up stuff if you need to.

She is a wonderful professor. He lectures are interesting and fun. She loves questions & comments. If you participate she'll know your name by week 2. There is a lot of article reading, so keep good notes on them- remember the authors! Tests are short but hard if this is new material for you.

One of the best professors I ever had! She is really sweet and is really knowledgeable about linguistic anthro and anthro in general. This class was really interesting and definitely opened my eyes to new ways of thinking about language. The readings were usually pretty interesting and the guest speakers were great. I definitely suggest this class!

This was a great class. The material was interesting and she presented it pretty straightforward. She posts her lecture notes online. The articles are fairly easy. 4 pop quizzes, drops your lowest one. A short paper, 3 exams, and section participation make up your grade. Pretty easy class if you keep up with the readings.

Possibly the nicest woman in the world. I visited her during office hours and she was really helpful with talking about grad school and peace corps stuff. Her class was really good, and I wish I didn't skip as many classes as I did (but it was at 9:50... sue me). I still got an A. I really like her a lot; take the class!!
