Let me just say one thing about this professor and its called RUN AWAY .. I took this class thinking it was joke because how is theatre such a rigorous class? Im a pre med student and this class was the most time consuming , repetitive, ANNOYING class. How do I have more homework in a theatre class then in my 4000 level chemistry course.

Took Theatre appreciation with this professor and it was pretty interesting. Two papers and an assignment about an play. Quizzes on stuff you learn and thats pretty much. just show up and everything should be easy. Oh and a group project with a pp and a scene from the playwright your group choose. Graded by group so get in a good group!

Class consists on two major papers based on Othello and Oedipus Rex, 6 quizzes 12 questions each true/false and one final group project based on a playwright. This class discusses history of theatre and how it's reflected from historic events, if you've taken an art history class, you'll see a lot of art periods in the theatre form. Take him!!

Josh is someone who clearly cares a lot about theater and the arts, sometimes he'll rant about some obscure musical or something for an hour but he's cool lol. If you've taken any art appreciation or art history before, this class should be an easy A for you

If you are a theatre major, please don't miss out on the amazingness that is Josh Braun. He can be tough on you but he just tells you like it is. He will help you with your skills every step of the way. I live far from campus, but I still went all the way to Downtown Miami to take his classes. If you are theatre major, don't go to any other campus.

ENROLL Super chill class and he's a really really nice guy. One of my favorite professors in Miami Dade. There are about 4-5 quizzes that count for 3 grades. Two papers, one on Oedipus Rex and the other on Othello. Go to class for a grade. EXTREMELY fair grader. A midterm and a final. Very easy just study your notes. Group project at the end, also easy.

Comment:

Professor Braun is passionate about the performing arts, and truly teaches from the heart. Unlike most professors he doesn't use powerpoints, and that's what makes him unique. I have taken 2 classes with Braun and I would take more if I had the chance. Do your papers, study for his quizzes, and you will do more than fine!

loved the class! he's a great professor one of the best in mdc. He really cares about his students! In the class, we did a couple of acting exercises/techniques, 2 monologs. I've taken him 2 times already and I'd take his class 100 more times.

I've taken prof. Braun 2 times now and I love his classes! he's funny and caring towards his students, sometimes a bit tough but it's because he believes he can get the best out of you. TH2000 2/3 papers, 1 group project, quizzes fairly easy. I'll be taking improv. with him, next semester can't wait!

Having Braun as a professor was a nice experience overall. He makes his lectures somewhat entertaining and I kinda enjoyed going to class. He does give essay assignments but they're honestly very easy to write; they're mostly opinion papers or reflections. He gives one extra credit assignment and there IS a major group project, but not too bad.

Overall great professor. I took this class as an elective and it was easy. When it comes to papers he's a tough grader and you must come to class everyday. Also there's one group project and you have to go see a play for the semester. NO HOMEWORK!

Good professor. I took him since I needed the credit for an elective. Overall he's a good professor but I would only recommend if your willing to put some effort into the class. There's a few quizzes, midterm and final, as well as Gordon rule assignments. He grades very tough so you have to take the papers serious if you want a good grade.

He's a great teacher! I had about 4 quizzes, two or three papers and two reaction papers. He grades fairly and lets you know exactly what he expects from the paper. The quizzes are based on the notes print out that he gives you in the beginning of the semester, you DO NOT need the book. It was an easy and fun Class!
