so far has been the worst teacher i have had! a truly terrible human being. i wish that this class was available from a different professor because i would love that. he is so condescending and just plain rude. never have had a teacher degrade me so much in class. the class wouldn't be half bad if the teacher was actually kind

Did not enjoy Dr. Reed at all. He made the class way harder than it needed to be. Tests were hard and not clear, take the class with someone else.

This class was way harder than I expected it to be and Dr. Reed definitely took it way too seriously. My friends in other Health and Wellness classes had much easier times than I did and even enjoyed their classes. I studied so much and found myself still not doing well. Would not recommend to anyone.

Very passionate about subject being taught. Pretty tough for GER course. You're expected to read chapters before going over them in class. Calls on you at random during class to answer questions; if one student answers wrong, pop quiz is given. Tests are tough but if he knows you work hard, he will reward you. Hard, but definitely do-able.

Doesn't help. I purposely didn't buckle my seatbelt to class because getting into a car accident would be better than spending a minute with this man. He thinks himself to be better than everyone.

He's definitely been one of my favorite professors. He's so passionate about what he teaches and sincerely wants the best for his students. His tests are hard but if you read the book and take notes you can easily make an A.

Dr. Reed is one of the most invested professors I have had at Furman. He legitimately wanted his students to do well. He was more up front about what would be on his tests and more lenient a grader than pretty much any professor I have had. I am a music student and I made an A studying less than I should have. He's a great guy.

He's rude, unhelpful, and the kind of person that you don't want to spend any more time with than you have to. His tests are way harder than they should be for an intro level course. He definitely turns people away from the health science major.

He has honestly been one of my favorite professors at Furman. He really cares about the subject, and it shows. Participate in class and actually workout, and you're set. Tests can be hard, but if you put in the time, you'll be fine.

After talking to other people who had HSC 101, I think it's a tough subject no matte the teacher. Reed can seem rude, but that shouldn't be a reason to do poorly in this class. Study everything (which isn't too much) and the test will seem like an insult to your intellect.

He's not all that great....I like him as a person, but as a teacher he is too pushy and rude. Was glad when I finished the class and the tests are ridiculously, incredibly hard. DO NOT be fooled by this being a basic class. I am a musician and this class was just....annoying. Take someone easier unless you're an HSC major

Makes class interesting. Gives you the notes for each chapter. If you come to class and mostly pay attention you'll be fine. He really cares about his subject and his students which makes going to class more enjoyable.

LOVED Reed--very enthusiastic and in-your-face about being physically active. Lots of memorization (quizzes are cummulative), but by the end of the term, I felt that I really knew the subject. I would definitely take him again.

Dr. Reed is great. Activity days are totally up to you. Quizzes aren't horrible, but you do need to memorize. On many occassions he will postpone the quiz for various reasons. We've probably only had 4 or 5 the whole term. Doesn't want to make it a Bio course. Knows it's a GER and wants you to do well and be physically active.
