Dr. Stephens assigns a lot of homework. The good thing is that she has no deadlines so you can go at your own pace. The bad thing is that usually that means you do a lot of it the week of finals. She's super chill and great at teaching. If you ever struggle with anything, just ask and she will help you

Comment:

Special Topics: Ethical Issues in Film & Literature. LOTS and LOTS and LOTS of homework & its going to take up a lot of your time. Each assignment takes at least 1 hour sometimes 2 or 3 & theres multiple per week. Some of the information was confusing in english let alone spanish but other than that, interesting class and I like Professor Stephens.

Dr. Stephens is an awesome teacher. She is very knowledgeable, and extremely helpful. She is one of the best educators I have met. She likes to use films a lot in her teaching. Something particularly notable about Dr. Stephens is that she adapts to the students' needs.

I really love studying Spanish, but the teacher was very boring, and it felt like some of the students spoke better than her. She was really into films; she made us do film reviews as homework. Taught class quite a lot in English, and I think it would have helped us to practice more with Spanish. If I didn't like Spanish so much, I would've skipped

Very Nice Teacher, but I felt not enough Spanish was used in class, maybe I was the level. Because so much english was used learning Spanish was hard

I have had Dr. Stephens for Intermediate 2, Spanish Civilization, and Spanish Literature. She's easily the best teacher I've ever had in my entire educational career. She REALLY wants you to succeed and will do all she can to help you. She is an easy grader and really likes to give you genuine compliments while grading you, which is great.

She is quite possibly my favorite professor in the University. She is a very easy teacher, easy to get along with, very helpful, good at teaching and explaining, and very understanding and forgiving. If given the chance, choose this professor!!

Dr. Stephens is an incredibly kind and helpful person. She will never make you feel stupid in her class, even if you don't understand a word she says (she teaches mostly in Spanish). She gives you most of the test beforehand so you can pretty much memorize the whole thing. I highly recommend her for any Spanish class.

Dr. Stephens is very helpful, and very willing to work with students. Uses blackboard frequently, and puts all documents on it. Her spanish is very easy to understand, compared to other instructors in the dept. Always gives lots of time for big assignments, reviews before exams. Has high expectations, and is very encouraging.

I loved this teacher and am very disappointed she isn't teaching 2602 this semester. She is always willing to help and explains everything very well. She is really one of the nicest teachers I know. Very easy to talk to...don't be afraid to ask for help.
