Comment:
This. Class. Isn't. Worth. It. Mura is a very sweet, kind lady, but for being a course in "Thought and Civilization," you don't discuss thought process or relate anything back to civilization. The course description is misleading-- this is a history class. You will do a lot of dense reading and the lectures are not engaging. Lots of tough papers.

I absolutely couldn't stand her. I found her to be passive-aggressive, patronizing, and unhelpful. Her class was fairly easy as long as you read the books and participated, but her personality made me want to hurl. She speaks very softly so you have to really listen. Being up-front and firm with her results in child-like responses. Not a fan.

Just an incredible professor all-around. Show that you care and she'll bend over backwards to make things work for you. Sweet & genuinely warm-hearted, also brilliant, and you'll learn a lot in her class. Not super tough but she's smart and will know if you're screwing around with her.

She is such a sweet lady, but Dr. Mura is very quiet - you HAVE to pay attention and focus in. Even though the subject matter is super boring, she has such a strong passion for it that is quite admirable.

Incredibly nice lady, but what a terrible class. Very boring. She speaks as if everyone is very interested in ancient historical literature. Hard grader. But so, so nice.

She is nice, helpful, and a tough grader. I recommend avoiding this professor for this particular course. Her textbooks were bad. Discussing the text in class was boring. Save yourself from having to work with this material for a semester and pick a different section.

Slightly boring in her lecturing, but she loves the material she is teaching. Approachable and available, as well as very helpful. I ended up actually enjoying medevial literature.

This is the class I probably hated most in my years at school. Teethpulling, mundane to the point that you could fall asleep with your eyes open and you wouldn't know it. Forget the tests - a joke.

I had Middle Ages Lit. with her and she was amazing. She's so sweet- she had class at her house and made lunch for us. It was a great class. I also had her for History of the English Language. This was a slightly different experience, as she gives very difficult tests. Overall, she's a great, personable teacher. Hope for papers and not tests.
