Comment:
Nolta was amazing. She is exceptionally good in teaching chem 210. For 211, I found it to be really GSI dependent. For me, my GSI was a bit clueless and never really told us how we are being graded until the end of the semester. But, Nolta as a person is amazing and I would highly recommend taking any chem class with her.

I didn't even have orgo with Nolta, but she still held office hours for orgo and recorded herself doing practice problems. So much more helpful than the lectures!!!! She goes so far above and beyond and is so willing to help you understand things without being condescending. I am horrible at orgo but Nolta is the only decent thing about it.

What can I say that hasnt already been said? Nolta is amazing and great at explaining material for lab and for Orgo I in her FN Orgo sessions. If you can take Nolta for either, TAKE HER.

Dr. Nolta is easily the best professor I have ever had in college. She is kind, personable, and has devoted her life to making chemistry as comprehensive and as fun as possible. Her FN Orgo series for Chem 210 was a lifesaver for me, and it was always a treat to show up to lab lecture every Monday. Love, love, love her!

Dr. Nolta is God. I didn't actually have her for chem 210, but she holds office hours every Friday and records them and they are the only reason I'm doing as well in this course as I currently am.

Dr. Nolta is the MVP of the chem department. She is an engaging lecturer and truly cares about her students. She responds to emails within 20 minutes and is often available in actual lab sections to answer questions and help out. She also recorded coursepack problems for chem 210, even though she was only teaching 211. She goes above and beyond.

Before the course began, during the course, and while I was DAT prepping 6 months later this professor was available to answer questions. She truly has a passion for organic chemistry and her students success. Organic chemistry can be a challenging subject, but she makes it easier to comprehend. She's super organized and such a fun professor!

Dr. Nolta was pretty helpful in preparing us for labs every week during the lectures, but sometimes left things confusing and left us with lots of questions for the GSI's. Not really her fault, hard to speak about both the chemistry concepts and lab mechanics both in a 50 min lecture. She was light-hearted and lecture was fun.

Hands down the BEST professor I have ever had at this University! She is tough but very fair with her students. She's one of the kindest people you'll ever meet. A lot of people say her exams are harder but after taking a lot of practice tests you will be just fine. She literally gives you seven practice exams to work with. Take advantage of them!

If you have to take orgo, you have to take it with Nolta! She is the most engaging, caring, and genuinely enthusiastic professor I had freshman year. Basically to get an A you need to commit to the coursepack practice and attend some of her workshops/office hours. The woman dedicates her life to her students, so you can give some of that back!

There are not enough good words to describe Nolta, she deserves every single bit of praise that she receives. I only pulled a B but that is purely due to my lack of studying/spring semester being a bit rushed. She gives everyone the ability to get an A for sure and is just the nicest person of all time.

I have never left a review of a professor but I came here specifically to leave one for Nolta. She is amazing!! I never liked chemistry before this course but she made organic chemistry actually kind of fun just because shes so passionate and cares about students. Always go to her office hours and do the coursepack problems and youll be fine!!

Nolta is hands-down the best professor I've had at umich in any subject. She is an unbelievably caring and devoted teacher and LOVES what she does and the subject she teaches. Don't be intimidated by the rumours; orgo isn't that bad, and she is there for you with resources and workshops for the coursepack. Nolta made orgo fun and really cool.

If youre one of the unlucky bunch to have to take orgo, like myself, take it with Nolta! Not only is she a phenomenal explainer with great notes, she is very accessible out of class and answers emails in minutes. Thanks for a great semester, Nolta!!

Nolta is the absolute GREATEST. Even though concepts in orgo are completely new and sometimes difficult to grasp, Nolta goes out of her way to help students. Besides 6 hours of extra weekly RECORDED workshops and office hours, shes also extremely responsive to email questions- she literally responded to all of mine in less than 10 minutes.

Nolta was a great prof--definitely cared about her students and knew the material well. In order to do well in her class, however, you pretty much HAVE TO attend/watch an extra 4 hours of lectures (office hours & workshops) per week because that's where she goes through actual problems (what matters for the exam). Kinda frustrating, still good prof

She explains things perfectly & holds like 6 hours of RECORDED office hours per week, going over solutions IN DETAIL. I came in absolutely HATING chemistry. She also grades on improvement. I got a B on all the midterms but an A on the final, so she gave me an A in the class when I really should've had a B+ (based on percentage) TAKE HER CLASS!!
