Tests all come from quizzes & hw. Allows 1pg cheats sheet front &back for tests. heavy accent so difficult to understand but still good professor really understands what he talking about and is always willing to clarify stuff you don't understand. also there is no final because the last test is worth 25% of grade.

Nice guy,my textbook collected dust,he has an unforgiving grading scale(exams are 80%)its going to be hard to actually learn in this class because of the grade pressure and the allowance of a cheat sheet and the fact that the exams are the same questions as the hw,if you try to be a dedicated student in this class, you cant mess up,didn't learn here

Great teacher, really wants his students to learn. Willing to help if you ask. His class is not easy, the material is quite challenging but not impossible if you really apply yourself. Although, he lets you use 1 cheat sheet for exams, and 98% of it is straight from the homework.

Professor Xu is a very nice guy although yes he has a heavy accent, he is always willing to help and explain his material. His exams are just like his homeworks. You attend for in class exercises you get credit for. You get what you put in but overall he is a great prof.

He is somewhat hard to understand but overall his class was extremely easy. The problems he goes over in class along with the online homework are what make up your test. He also allows you to have a page of notes with each exam. I strongly suggest taking him!

He's a nice guy and all, BUT do not take him if you have a hard time understanding different accents. His Asian accent is very thick and I found it extremely hard to follow along during lectures. His handwriting can also be very hard to read at times. He also wastes time by showing how to do problems with MS Excel which can't be used on tests...

Good teacher, but does not do enough examples. However, the test are from his hw, so if you do your hw, you will do fine in the test.

His accent is the worst and makes the material a lot harder to understand. The subject itself is just very tough but I feel they're better stats prof out there. HOMEWORK tophat ALMOST EXACTLY LIKE TESTS. Read the book before class and you'll have easier time in class understanding what he's talking about. Maybe go to the q-lab for hw help

Test are from the homework questions and you always have a study sheet. You have 4 group projects to do. Tophat questions in class every day and 15 easy homework questions on Tophat after each class. Really good professor to take if you're not good at stats

80% of your grade comes from exams. 90% of the questions on the exams come from HW so just study that and you're guaranteed to pass each exam. 15% of grade comes from cases and rest comes from attendance. Cases are easy but do require some effort and can be done in groups. Take cases to TA before due date and you're certain to pass.

He is very nice and caring and always responds quickly to messages. Has an accent but you learn to understand him. Easy going and provides clear instructions in class, though the case studies are difficult to understand. Not the hardest class but requires effort on your part. Study the TopHat homework for tests more than the book.

Professor Xu is great! I took him for both MS 1023 and MS 3043. He is very helpful and is very knowledgeable in statistics. Daily quizzes; some online & some written. Also have multiple case studies which you can do in a group or by yourself. Has thick accent but you get used to it. Tests are very easy if you study the exercises and read the book.

Dr. Xu is a very nice professor. You need to show up for his in-class exercises. He is very responsive to emails and is willing to help in whatever way he can. The homework questions can be a bit excessive but really are no-brainers and he gives you plenty of time to work on them. Only two tests all semester and 2 case studies for undergrad.

Although somewhat difficult to understand, he tries really hard to make sure everyone keeps up and he tries to help however he can. If you're really interested in learning the material, this may not be the class for you. If you want an easy A, then take this professor. Do the daily homework & you'll have the majority of the exam questions. Easy!

his tests are the in-class assignments. He gives 4 tests & allows you a cheat sheet for each test. the last test will have a lot of the in class assignments, but he does throw in other questions, too. there are case studies you do as a group as well. f you can find someone to give you the quiz passwords, you can miss class. He has a heavy accent.

Clear and straight to the point. Daily quizzes, 4 case studies and 4 multiple choice tests. Trying to save money? Don't buy the book The professor has a strong asian accent but he posts the pp and videos over the material. If you find some one who will you give you the passwords for the quizzes, you don't have to come to class.

Xu was one of my favorite professors this semester. He was always there any time I had questions, and he usually hangs out for 10-15 minutes after class to help his students. His accent can be a bit difficult, but you get used to it! He has daily in class assignments, so be prepared. They're not difficult, but they are still daily assignments.

He definitely does have a thick Chinese accent, but you get used to it and eventually you can understand him pretty well. His lectures are a full 50 minutes long and pretty boring, though he tries his best. The subject just isn't an easy one. All tests are STRAIGHT from the in class quizzes! And he allows a cheat sheet, so just copy those down.

He is a bit hard to understand but just read the powerpoints and any other material and you will be okay. He does give in class exercises which are basically on the test. He lets you have a cheat sheet on the test which is super helpful! Bit hard but you can pass it if you put in effort.
