Everything taught in class is not on the test and everything that is on the test is not taught in class.took everything so seriously for a freshmen seminar, it was harder than my actual classes ( english, math, philosophy) uses d2l and text book a lot. more time spent outside of class on homework than in class. grades really hard on papers

I really enjoyed her class. It was challenging, but she really gave you plenty of opportunities to succeed. I would recommend this class if you are looking to gain something from the class, not just to get an easy A.

I loved this class and her passion for everything that she taught. It made things easier to understand and learn because she knows what she's talking about. I went into this class thinking it would be dumb and easy, it was neither dumb or easy, but only because I didn't do the readings. Do the readings she assigns and watch the videos!

Dr. Hoerrner is one of the most passionate people I have ever met in my life. She is extremely funny and helpful. You can tell she really cares about her students. Her tests are tricky, just go over your notes and review the readings you were supposed to have read. Like the person said prior to me, this class isnt as much of a joke as KSU1101.

Honestly, this class isn't hard. It's not the joke that 1101 is, at least. Dr. Hoerrner has put in some things like the Millinium Development Goals that really make the class a lot more about activism than communication. I expected a lot more about written communication since I want to be a writer, but at least the class wasn't comepletely boring.

I thought she was totally hot. Knows media law, publications inside and out. Big interest in world events like Darfur and the Holocaust. Tough teacher - there is no extra credit, nor should there be - but she will work with you to help you get through the class.

Her classes are normally fairly boring but she puts all her powerpoint slides online so when you fall asleep in her class, you can just check them on there. She is incredibly understanding and nice, and will try hard to help you succeed.

I still carry the 1st Amendment around in my wallet. Her class was very hard. The one thing I remember is her locking the door when class started. As a "working student" I couldn't always get to class on time. She ticked me off a few times by keeping me out of class. I passed, but I wasn't happy with her rule.

Media Law is tough subject matter - but she clearly and succinctly communicates it so that you GET it - which is essential if you're going into any type of media position. Great teacher!

Very Intelligent, dynamic teacher. Knows communication law. . .hers is one of my favorite graduate courses I've ever taken. Doesn't hand out an "A" like candy, but will reward you for hard work...and answer questions.

Unbelievably tough grader. A lot of effort will get you the same grade as the lame slackers... you will not get a 100 on anything and there is no extra credit... with only 1000 pts to get and 200 of those based on a very biased group project...look out!
