I am a working actor. Moved to NYC after taking classes with Kenshaka for two years in CA. I applied myself to the things learned from Kenshaka and am constantly booking gigs. He's a professional, and many kids taking his classes are longing for their "high school" experiences. Take if you are serious about acting or growing up as a human being.

I took 4 years of theatre in high school and I learned absolutely nothing from Kenshaka. He criticizes far too much and even made students cry, when he didn't even touch the basics of what they were supposed to be doing. I do not recommend this class if you actually want to learn something, but if you're looking for an easy A, go ahead.

Kenshaka was a great teacher. He spent a lot of time with individual students helping them craft their work/scenes to perfection. I really benefited from his particular emphasis to detail (regarding scene study) because his comments were very specific on how to improve as an individual. I loved this class! - Manzyl x

When Kenshaka teaches, you don't just attend the class. You are experiencing the essence of what it is to be an actor. He shares, guides and helps you live in the moment. At at point you are no longer acting but being. 2010 in Fundaments of Acting at El Camino College. The only class where I met not classmates but better beings.Georgi Sarafov

It's a gas reading these old posts about a professor who has come to El Camino and set our worlds on fire. All the students love him! He's caring, sensitive, funny as all heck, insightful, supportive... All the actors absolutely love this guy! Get over artists trying to scam their way through class beware, Kenshaka is serious about the craft!

People complaining about Kenshaka are all slackers. It's a good thing he discouraged so many no talent hollywood hype wannabe's from the theatre. You wouldn't believe how many losers seek confirmation by getting on stage, and they really do suck. Kenshaka tells the truth and they complain. Go figure. The man was too good for this sorry school.

The WORST teacher I've ever had and I've even had a class with Preble! Spends the whole class complaining about his personal life, Criticizes to no end, no constructive activities, is NEVER satisfied with ANYONES work, very discouraging, just because he couldn't make it in Hollywood doesnt mean he should put everyone in class down. Horrible!

Spent most our class time complaining about how much he hates Southern California and lamenting about the career he wished he had. Anytime we actually did any acting (which was maybe 3 days of the semester) he critisized to no end, forgetting this was a beginning acting class. I have never seen so many students discouraged from acting! You couldn't pay me enough to take that class again.

We know we need to fix things, but tell us what and how, please! And yes, people can be good actors without being good at improv excercises. Trust me, I have been in many plays and manged to make it sound good when somone messed up and I admit openly that

The best acting teacher that I have ever come across, if you have the privilege of taking his class, take it. One learns the art of acting through the tough love of this New York actor who takes it to a whole new level you didn’t know about.

Kenshaka was amazing, he was motivating & very educational. His class was a blast & he was hilarious. When in our college careers can we ever have some much fun learning so much? I would highly recommend Kenshaka, get him before he moves on to bigger and better things..Chaffey doesn't deserve him! And he knew all of my classmates names early on

I was in a play he was directing and he didn't know my name all semester! I was involved in theater all throughout high school, and the play I was in at Chaffey was definitely more unprofessional than any high school play I've been a part of. Doesn't know how to direct.

VERY REAL, VERY GOOD, OFTEN COMPARES THE CLASS WITH NEW YORK WHERE HE WENT TO SCHOOL AND STUDIED WITH SAMUEL L JACKSON. PRETTY FUNNY GUY. WHEN THE SEMESTER IS ENDING AND HE THINKS YOU SHOULD KNOW THE STUFF, THE GRADING GETS TOUGHER

The man is awesome. Unfortunately, he's the only one good in a department filled with idiots like Erik Jacobson. The only one in the department with professional experience and teaching experience outside of Chaffey. A true artist with loads of energy and enthusiasm.
