Read the textbook for the tests. For the speeches, make sure to follow the rubric, carefully read the instructions attached, and view the syllabus. Class is very annoying and anxiety-inducing, but it isn't hard to get an A. Practice your speech a lot and do extra credit as well.

Comment:

Professor McCall is such a sweetheart, I've honestly never had a professor more caring and empathetic than her. The lectures are actually engaging and help give you "real-world" skills, and they don't put you to sleep. She's super energetic, and the T.A. for the semester was very sweet too. The tests aren't hard if you read the textbook. Reccomend!

Dr. McCall is an absolute gem in the dial center. She absolutely cares about her students, their grades, the amount they learn, and their ability to apply their new knowledge in real conversations. I respect her above every other professor I've had in my five years, even the other dial center professors who are all also killing it.

Very engaged lectures. Expect mini assignments that call for you to engage with people outside of class. Very sweet lady. Read the textbook if you want to pass the test. One big group project but it's not too bad.

By far the best professor at UF. She is super sweet, compassionate, and aware of everything about the topic. Her exams are a little hard, so make sure to study. Always tells stories about the topics to help you understand. 3 extra credit opportunities. One of the easiest classes so long as you keep up. Wonderful lady, 10/10 would recommend.

She is hilarious, and fun. Very easy class, you just have to read the textbook and take notes from it and learn that material pretty much on your own, her lectures are not from the text, but her tests are. The textbook is really awesome though, recommend buying, not renting, you'll want to keep it. Highly recommend this course. Attendance mandatory

Really awesome professor! She has great energy and offers extra credit and really fun in class activities that help you get to know your classmates. Nothing is hard as long as you read the assigned chapters and go to class.

She is so great! I absolutely loved this class, I bragged about it to everyone. She is so enthusiastic about her subject and she makes learning it so fun and enjoyable. She really cares about her students and is very easy to talk to. If you can take this class with her, DO IT!

She is AWESOME. Just took her for Summer B and I hate to end the class at the end of the semester. She teaches in a way that makes learning the material fun, and interesting. Most of the test is the chapters from the book. Read that, and listen to her lectures and you'll be fine. Tests are extremely easy, just study. You will LOVE her and class

I love her. She is sooooo amazing! Do not listen to the person below this comment. EASY A! Her lectures are helpful if you understand where she is coming from and usually there are about 10 questions from the lecture on the EXTREMELY easy test. This teacher is FAB!

This class didn't feel like a college class at times. Lots of activities, which are fun, I guess, but if attendance is mandatory, I want my time to be spent learning. Exams are from the book, and she doesn't lecture from the book, so you basically go to class to hear her personal stories about her life. Easy class, but I felt I didn't learn much.

Awesome class! Awesome teacher. She definitely keeps the class interesting with her stories and the work load is manageable. There's one paper, 3 exams and a group project that are fairly easy. The exams are mostly based on the book, so make sure you have that but it is a good read so it won't be a waste. Would take her again!

Wonderful!! She is extremely enthusiast and loves her job. She is crystal clear on everything she teaches and makes an effort to ensure you fully understand. She uses funny examples that you can relate to. She really puts her heart and soul into it! If I could take more classes with her I certainly would!

I hated going to this class! It's all common sense and the exam questions come from the book, not lecture... so really, it's pointless to go to class! I got all B's on her exams and forgot to write a paper, but somehow still got an A? I was expecting a B and really don't know how that happened but I'm not complaining! She's an awesome lady!

Dr. McCall is a prof that won't bore you. I found the material to be a lot of common knowledge and didn't learn too much except terms but the activities in class are fun. You will def need the book for the test and she takes attendance. She gives extra credit for making your own test a week before the actual test which is helpful.

Awesome teacher! Was my first college professor, and I couldn't have asked for more. I thought that I was a good public speaker, but her class makes you better. Little wacky at time, but such a good person. Actually cares about you and your college life.

i would definitely recommend the class because the material you learn is very practical. dr. mccall is really funny and interesting..shes kinda like a slob though. HOWEVER be aware of the attendance policy. you get 3 absences but i broke my ankle at the end of the semester and i ended up missing 6 classess and wound up with B...very ridiculous!
