Mme Halling was my prof for FR101-102, and I would certainly take her class again. She is always happy and really cares about your wellbeing. I was not a beginner when I took her class so I can not speak for beginners, but I found her class very easy and informative as long as you pay attention. Always willing to help if you just ask. Loves her job

Kirsten cares a lot about her students but I am always clueless about the material. She is not a good at teaching. No one knows what is going on. This is very apparent during our exam reviews. It is obvious who had Kirsten for FR1010 because they don't know anything at all and I am thankful I had a different prof. I would not recommend Kirsten.

Kirsten was the only reason I survived my first semester of college. She was always there for me (and her other students). If you show up to class, make an effort to learn the language, and are nice to her, you'll pass. She mad learning French so much fun and even convinced me to minor in it.

Kirsten is honestly one of the best professors I've had. She is very caring and passionate about the subject. Most of the class is in French so if you didn't take French in high school it may be difficult. I never took French in high school and though the class was difficult, she is an amazing teacher that takes the time to help each student.

one of the best teachers i've ever had. she'll stand there and repeat the same phrase over and over until every person in the room gets it, she's very dedicated. you can tell she truly cares for her students and their success, not only in french, but in general.

One of the best professors I've ever had. She genuinely cares about her students. The most understanding professor ever, really gives you a chance to do well. She's funny and really wants to make sure you understand her lectures, definitely wants you to do well. She doesn't give undeserved grades but will help you with anything. Overall lovely.

She is Amazing. Very helpful, and isn't strict on speaking English if you have a question in class. Book is a necessary! Shows a lot of music videos that are currently popular in France. Hilarious and knowledgeable about the culture. ALWAYS brings in French candy and food. I highly recommend her. never boring. Calls out sleepers and texters!

I took this class as a refresher course and I learned things from her I'd never known. Mme has lived and worked in France so she really knows what she's talking about. She teaches you things you can actually use, not just memorize. She is very clear and helpful for learners at all stages. Very good class, very good prof.

WONDERFUL prof! Go out of your way to take her classes! Funny personable helpful & absolutely loves French and talking w/ her students. You HAVE to give your BEST effort to speak French & avoid using any English in class, so it's a great environment to practice French conversation fluency & not too hard. An awesome hour of FR immersion 3x a week!

This. class. is. awesome. Dr. Halling is a sweetheart who has a genuine heart for her students, and is always willing to help a struggling student. Heck, sometimes I go to her with non-French related things and she counsels me through them. A wonderful prof. Highly recommended.

Conversation classes are ridiculously easy and famous for being easy "A's." If you show up breathing and make an attempt to do the exercises, you will do well. I can't imagine that Dr. Halling ever gives anyone less than an "A" unless they completely neglect doing anything. Overall, this was a fun class, but I wish it had been more challenging!
