Comment:

Professor Kleber was very understanding and was willing to help anytime. He was nice and really wanted all of his students to pass. The class wasn't too hard, but it can be a little bit challenging. All I can say, Macro was easier than Micro for me personally. I really enjoyed the class and the discussions were very interesting and helpful.

Lectures were very boring. He doesn't use powerpoint. He doesn't give extra credit or help you understand. He's kinda just mixed all over the place and just talks. Tests are very difficult and projects are even harder. I don't know how I ended up with a B I was failing all semester.

His lectures don't seem to cover the material covered on the test. The questions are worded in such a way that its very difficult to understand. Get use to learning the concepts behind all the graphical analyses.

This teacher is somewhat tough. I dont understand him when he is teaching because he confuses me, he goes off topic and speaks on his personal life vs. actually teaching. The quizzes & tests are difficult, I suggest focusing on the learn smarts assignments, discussions, and final project. Some quizzes are take home so look up answers online.

I took him last semester, terrible experience. Would contradict himself mid-lecture from something he said earlier, pretty much everyone in my class had D's as their grade. I looked through about roughly 100 quizzes and tests looking for mine in a stack, and saw 6 A's, the rest were D's but mostly F's. I will never take another one of his classes

Professor Saavedra is by far the worst professor I've ever had. He goes on tangents about things other than economics and he treats basic Econ like micro or macro and his tests don't include ANYTHING from what you've "learned" or in the textbook, just whatever is at the top of his class. Do not take this class, it is a waste of time.

It was a very difficult class and he doesn't offer much help. His lectures are boring and he has an accent that makes it hard to understand. Did not like this class at all. Would not recommend. No homework

Maybe I would have learned something if I could actually understand him! The language barrier was a deal breaker for me. His english is terrible. He made it clear everyone needed the book but I never used it. Huge waste of money. His lectures are so boring, he really makes you feel like you don't need to go to class. I do not recommend him.

Maybe I just had bad luck with this prof but i did NOT enjoy his class. Quiz are timed for 10min, impossible to finish. He posted the date for the final project then a few days later changed it before I realized that he did that so he gave me a failing grade for late project and refused to return any of my emails. Tests are what helped me to pass.

Comment:

The teacher is incredibly difficult. We've taken 1 test so far in class and he advised the average grade was a "D". Although this is an entry level course, test questions are advanced (intuitive questions as opposed to entry level concepts). The book hasn't been helpful because he's not testing based on the book. Good luck!

Prof is a very tough grader, talks about everything except what really matters for this course, very vague and quick lectures but goes off on tangents every single class. At the end of this course i don't feel like i have learned anything. Make sure you print the tests so that you can study those and pass the Quizzes he gives at every class

Prof. Saavedra is a very passionate teacher on the topic of economics. He does talk a lot about Pepsi and Pizza. However, he does give study guides for his test which come with answers!!! Final exam is a financial plan it took me 20 min and I got an A in the class ... THE BOOK IS NOT NEEDED I NEVER USED OR READ!! EASY EASY CLASS A!

Comment:

Great professor and a very interesting class. He is really passionate about the subject and wants students to learn as much as possible. Also has a great sense of humor. Besides economics, you will learn very useful things about personal finances and investing. The class is not easy, but if you study and put in effort, you will have a good grade.
