Comment:

Not very clear on grading criteria and what is needed in the papers; contradicts herself A LOT, example: don't cite in the intro, but the comment said go fix the intro as there is no citation in it. Don't take this class online. VERY unclear.

Comment:

She can be a bit strict when it comes to not meeting the exact page requirements and will even give you a failing grade on your essay for doing so. However, I was extremely grateful when she allowed me to redo my timed essay due to Canvas malfunctioning (since you need to do all of the essays to pass the class). She gives easy quizzes and DB posts.

Comment:

Kris was a great teacher! She was very involved, gave helpful feedback within a day and even set up reminders in Canvas to be sure that students didn't forget about an assignment or quiz. Her instructions and comments seemed to be contradictory at times, but a quick email to her resulted in quick clarification. Overall, she was a wonderful teacher!

Comment:

She's a good teacher because she gives her students a chance to bring their grades up. You are given a chance to earn extra credit on almost every essay. She is a bit of a tough (but fair) grader. Also, you will constantly be participating in discussion boards throughout her class.

I cannot recommend her at all. She constantly talks about herself, her hobbies, and gives you a run down of her family history that will cover the first two weeks of class. She writes out her expectations for class, but if it doesn't fit her opinion of how the topic should go, she'll grade it poorly. Do NOT take her courses at all costs!

She was all over the place I would not recommend her. She spent the majority of the time in class talking about her day and the remainder we spent in a group. There was little to no lecture in the class and the assignments were vague and hard to follow. Her feedback was not helpful in being successful on essays.

Comment:

Kris Meyer is a great teacher. She very clearly outlines what she looks for and grades papers basically on how well you followed directions. 95% of the class is writing essays and she doesn't give a lot of busy work. We only used the textbook one time the entire semester. I would take her again.

Online â€" Kris is an amazing teacher, she is very helpful. Although her class is difficult if you do the work you should do fine. The homework is actually helpful and she is very good about not assigning too much work. Fantastic teacher, I would love to take her again!

She's tough on essays, but she will detail the information for you. Two essays in I have an A- but only because I didn't do as well on the timed essay (tired from three mid-terms that week). There is no reason not to get an A in her class if you can write at a college level, or close. She sometimes gets sidetracked, but I'm usually entertained.

TOOK ONLINE. She is very fair and does want her students to succeed. She requires 4 essays (all interesting topics) that are from 4-6 pages minimum. 1 timed essay for the final. Offers a lot of extra credit. Very helpful. This was a good online class.

She's a very fair professor. You can tell she cares about her students and cares in giving it her all in providing a good class. She's a fair grader and her class is very easy to do well in. She's a stickler for certain approaches to writing, and is very ditsy, but overall that doesn't get in the way. I'd take her again.

Wonderful teacher. Very nice and funny. Tells you exactly what she looks for in essays. 5 essays, 1 of them is timed. You can revise one essay for a better grade. I highly recommend her.

I took Meyer for English 1A online and it was a great experience. If you really put in a good effort you can get an A, I got a B with minimal effort, and never opening the text book. If you read the things she assigns, participate in the essay workshops, send your essays to her for reviewing and ask questions, youll do great! I reccomend her!

Comment:

Nice lady who can be very understanding. She gave me a big break when I made a mistake on a due date. She is somewhat difficult but definitely a fair grader. She expects you to think outside the box and class discussions are a must, BUT she makes it very comfortable to talk in class. I am a mute in classes and I even talked. Great teacher!

Took online class. 5 essays, the last one being a big research essay. Read short novel and about a chapter of the textbook each week. Can do workshop with all your essays were you submit them on the DB on 2 other students edit them. You get extra credit for this and a better grade on your essay cause it was corrected by others but not manditory.

Comment:

She says she is a though grader, but she grades fair and gives very clear and specific examples of what she wants. Just show up to class, and do your assignments. The amount of homework is small compared to other English classes. The tests are easy. Only 1 person dropped the class and the overall grades were high. An A is easy to earn!
