She is a good lecturer and her notes are easy to understand. She provides supplements for every lecture. Though she does not upload the answer on the internet, she writes down the answer during lectures. Tests are very similar to supplements. If you go to every lecture and pay attention, you will get a good grade.

She didn't seem to be prepared for her class material. She made many mistakes and gave weekly quizzes but were more like midterms. I would avoid if possible.

She doesn't seem to know the material very well and makes a lot of errors on homework and quizzes. She also never replies to emails. Overall really bad professor you'll be better off taking this class with someone else who has a better reputation.

Typical econ class... She had homework, quizzes, and midterms+final. I'm not sure why she has such a bad reputation. If you attend lectures, take good notes, complete assignments, and occasionally go to office hours, you should pass.

This was one of Professor Van Gaasbek's first Statistics courses. You're going to need everything she gives you during lectures. Many equations that you must memorize for the exams! Mostly weighted on 3 midterms and 1 final with homework at 10%. You only need the textbook for practice problems. Very slight curve bumped me by only .3%.

She's not as bad as what most of these reviews are saying. She speaks clearly and the material is well paced but she has a tendency to make errors on exams and homework's, her writing is illegible a lot of times , she always keeps us in after time, and she is strict on her policies. The material is very easy for this class, but tests are trickky

By far the worst professor I've had at Davis. All notes must be handwritten since she doesn't allow the use of any laptops/electronics. She hand writes everything on the chalkboard, so sit close if you have trouble seeing. Oh that projector that's there? No you won't be using that. She'll make you delete any picture you take of the board. Avoid!

Worst professor I have had in two years at Davis. Lectures are useless and professor often contradicts what is written in the text book. Midterms #2 and #3 are nearly impossible to finish within the allotted time. I have also never seen so many errors on an exam. Both her practice exams and actual exams contained a minimum of 3 errors each. Absurd.

Comment:
Midterms are horrible because 1)the professor sucks at explaining when to use certain equations, and 2)homework has absolutely nothing to do with midterms and barely counts towards overall grade. TAs dont help and mine would even laugh at students for not understanding concepts. The professor is on edge and yells at students for having phones out.

Homework online needs a graphing calculator to be completed. No graphing calculator allowed for class. She posts practice exams without the practice exam answers. Homework is not relevant to midterm. TAs are useless and one of them yelled at us while we took the midterm exam. I could have learned stats if she didn't make it so hard to learn it.

Avoid this professor if you can!! She does not know how to teach and her exams do not relate to the homework at all. There are 3 midterms for this class and one of them is before finals. The lectures she gives always seem so rushed and she never thoroughly explains the concepts.

She's the worst professor I've had here while in Davis. She doesn't know how to teach and never gives any examples while she writes her notes. She expects us to know everything right away and makes her midterms extremely difficult. The TA's were HORRIBLE. They also had no idea how to teach. Avoid taking a class with her at all costs.

Avoid at all costs. She is extremely condescending and loves to argue. Should've received a much higher grade in the class, but she deleted individual homework assignments so we couldn't calculate our grades by ourselves. Seems like she down curved as well.

I give her high in evaluation, but I regretted after final. Her midterm was okay, but the final is so ridiculous, it's mostly off the topic. Crappy website need to purchase like $120 including ebook that's only valid for current quarter. No answer key for midterm and grading strictly. I hate her final

Lectures are really boring and her handwriting is illegible at times. She doesn't go into depth during lecture so it's not really helpful. She shows arrogance and was constantly seen arguing with student or if a student asked a question she would make them feel inferior. Not helpful at all

This is the second time I had her as a professor in economics. I will try to avoid her from now on. Her lectures are okay, they're just really boring. If you correct her for a mistake, she will argue that she is right even if the textbook says the complete opposite. I tried contacting her through email about an error (twice), still no response.
