Dont bother studying. I dont know how we passed this class. Two of my friends were so done with this clown and his lectures they took their final rolling on acid. You dont study and you fail. You study and you fail. Just go w C

He's not very clear during lecture, so if you want to learn anything, read the book. Homework is directly from the textbook, so going to class really isn't necessary. There's no TA for this class so you better be self-dependent if you plan on passing.

This is not a good professor. Don't take him if you didn't do physics in high school or if you don't have any experience with physics.

His lectures aren't that helpful because you could self teach yourself since most of the problems are straight from the textbook. However, the lab sessions are more worthy of going to because he goes through types of problems you'd see on the exam. Overall, he isn't the best professor, but he is nice and the resources are there.

Lau wasn't helpful with the course material - once I asked a question and he told me I should "already know it." Physics is a difficult class and your grade depends on staying above the average class grades. He doesn't help with understanding the material. Read the textbook for sure if you have him!

Class lasts 90 minutes. He ALWAYS end class after 45 minutes. Gives no reviews even though he always end class early. Copies pages straight from the book and does not teach anything. He does not care if his students do not understand. Then he gets mad because he received bad evaluations. I made an A and am not writing out of spite.

Don't take this professor. You need to study by yourself. 85 or up is A, not 75. No bonus point.

He is a very frustrating man. If you have the option to take another teacher, take the other teacher. He does not stimulate the class very well and asks very vague questions that make you confused. He looks at your confusion and makes you look like an idiot. He does not prepare you for the test very well, only going through a few example problems.

TERRIBLE TEACHER! He was happy when the class average for quizzes was 50%. He even claimed the point of this class is not to teach you. Inconvenient test dates.... He isn't clear or helpful. Self teaching is a must to survive.

If you learn physics well, you should take him. He gave good grade. Quiz and test are easy for me. I even don't need to prepare quiz and test

I learn physics very well in high school. I come from Asia country. It's pretty easy. I don't need to go to class. I didn't study for quiz and exam. Two quiz I got full score. I even didn't study it. He is so easy. If you learn physics pretty well, you should take him. Don't need to go to class. He give good grade.

Useless professor. Can barely teach the concept. Doesn't do examples in class. Doesn't seem to care for the students. I'm sticking to the book and other physics resources online to teach myself.

This was a very hard class. There are in class quizzes, homework via mastering physics. There is very little questions demonstrated in class. His lectures are just copied straight from the textbook. HIS EXAMS ARE HARD and there is no formula sheets given. He has a huge curve though but I wouldn't depend to much on that.

By far the worst teacher I've ever had. I thought I could handle the class despite the previous harsh reviews but I was so wrong. He has no teaching skills. He does not give partial credit or reviews so my test average was about a 50. Horrible teacher with not a single care that his students do not have a freakin master's in physics!

I recommend Dr. Lau to anyone who has a doctorate degree in physics. If you don't have one, be ready to have suicidal thoughts for an entire semester. No formula sheet, no test review, no examples during lecture, quiz the week of each test, weekly homework, 1 drop quiz. Don't be fooled by his 75+ = A policy. This class was my biggest mistake at UH

Tests are nothing like the homeworks. No formula sheets are provided for any exams including comprehensive final. There are three quizzes and one quiz will be dropped. The final will replace the lowest exam grade. If you have trouble memorizing formulas, do not take this professor.

He does alot of powerpoints and no examples of problems. Has a curve 75+ to make A. If you understand the homework problem be fine in class.(Cause its like the mid terms) No one comes to class just to turn in homework and quiz days. Got to study the book and do the homework problems have to.

There are several in class quizzes, in which everyone shows up for class. Otherwise attendance is pretty low. There was a midterm and a final, so if you messed up on one exam, it was over. The exams were not bad bc he gave out a review with similar questions. I recommend him bc he gives a nice curve 75 and up is an A! Definitely made an A :D

Good professor. 4 quizzes. Turn in homework on time when he walks into the class otherwise if you walk in late and turn it in, trust me he will take 20% off and HOmework is 50 points. It does make a difference and he is strict about taking points off from hw go to class becuz you will learn something even though it is boring
