He doesn't have attendance grade, but skipping class is a terrible idea. Classes consist of documentaries or lectures, and even though he posts the powerpoints on OnCourse, it won't have any detail you need to know for the tests. While the tests are really hard and specific, he grades the 2 papers really easily and gives extra credit opportunities.

Terrible professor, doesn't respond to emails and randomly takes attendance and pop quizes. Class is not very interesting and the only available time is M/W/F and 9a.m.

Dr. Fielding was a horrible professor, I learned nothing. When he gives you a "study guide" you'll have to memorize 75 names and only test you on 25 (out of those 25, 5 of them aren't on your study guide). Also the two 10 page papers are horrible to write, not to mention he doesn't even read them, just gives out an A or a C. Don't take this class

No wonder these ratings are so off, they are 3 years old! Fielding is an extremely boring lecturer. Don't skip his class though, there's only about a 140 point scale and if you miss on a video day, you lose 2 points! I don't know who is worse, him or the TA who seemingly fails everyone on Challenge Questions. Have fun waking up at 8:30 MWF.

Class deals mainly with the history of sport. Overlaps a little with Dr. Sailes' P392 class. However, this class is worth attending and Fielding make it worth it. The tests are easy as long as you pay attention in class and know something about sports
