Comment:

Lecture style class, lots of outside reading. The quiz's and tests are pretty easy if you go to class and read. He records his lectures and puts them on blackboard so if you miss a class it is really helpful to check blackboard! He makes Sociology interesting!

I didn't hardly pick up the textbook and did just fine. The notes are the key to doing well. As long as you go to class and understand the concepts it is fine. Dr. heck is very nice, but sometimes the lectures are boring.

Dr. Heck is nice but he's behind the times a little. The book we had to read for the class was about inner city Philadelphia 20 years ago and he was trying to apply everything in it to today. He tries really hard and the class is super easy if you numb your mind to the fact that he thinks sociology is the queen of all sciences.

Super informative. Extremely helpful. Very kind. Enthusiastic about teaching Sociology. LOVES his job. Enjoys being a sociology professor (it's obvious). Show up, do the required work, pay attention, you'll do just fine.

First off, you really don't need the book. Second, he is one of the most amazing teachers I have ever had. He is really passionate about sociology. That's the best thing a teacher can be, passionate. Definitely recommend him as a professor.

He really enjoys Sociology and I had fun listening to his lectures. He's a nice guy and very easy to talk to. He reminds me of the guy from the 6 Flags Commercial, very energetic. It's not really boring, and as long as you read the text book, it's pretty easy. I got A's on all the exams. Other than that, there's just a few short quizzes and essays.

Professor Heck is a very enthusiastic professor but I never really got the feeling he cared all that much if his students "got it". He knows his stuff, but the class isn't necessarily easy. Even so, if you take notes and go to class, you should be fine.
