Not gonna lie, Soil Science absolutely sucks. BUT if you go visit Dr. Young, he is really really nice. He will help you understand the material if you're having trouble with it. He expects a lot out of students, and his classes aren't easy. If you don't read the book or don't go to class expect to get a C. Pay attention well and it makes sense.

It is pretty much a blow off class anyways but he will do a lot to help you get in with your part of the ag department. There are very few assignments and he does not grade hard. With a little effort you can easily ace this class.

I took his online class which is suppose to be better than his regular class. He doesn't really seem to know a great deal about soils. His typed lectures are Full of typos making it hard to read sometimes. We had a test every week which you had to come to the school for. We used an Ed. 13 & 14 but he only gave fig. for the 13. Annoying.

I have had Dr. Young for two classes, once for crop science and the second for soil science. I really enjoyed him in crops but as a soil teacher the man is completely incompetent. He has called our entire class blithering idots to the entire class and has singled a few students out and made them look stupid. This class is unavoidable, so watch out.
