Professor Winograd was eh. He's super tough on grading and is a grump. There was a lot reading and writing. The final was unnecessary, as we had to act in front the class for a grade. Not my favorite professor, by far.

Comment:

Professor Winograd is cool, old-school, mature professor. He's a literature teacher, and loves his job and is passionate about it. His lectures were always interesting, and most importantly, he inspires you to really love literature. Not to mention, his class was not that hard. Highly recommendable professor.

Comment:

Professor Winograd was fair, strict, passionate, accessible during his office hours and after class. He would let his students know what he went through, and did not want us go through the same. I do not like English; but he made it tolerable.

I have never been more disappointed with a class than I was with his. He talks down to you and gives pointless feedback. I got an A in this class, but I had to work for it.

Comment:

Leonard is one of the more difficult ones that i've taken. He gives you opportunities to improve your work but is unforgiving with grades. Don't take his class if you're shy as you will have to present work to the class almost daily. Also, he asks for your cell number at the beginning of the semester, and in my case, called allll the time. Weird.

Comment:

Professor Winograd is obviously passionate about literature, and he presents that passion very well. He's very funny and pretty easy-going for the most part. Plenty of quizzes, but as long as you read the material you should be fine. I thoroughly recommend him for Intro to Lit.

I was a little disappointed with my grade in this literature class. I showed up to all but one class, turned in every assignment ahead of time, and studied hard for every quiz but his grading system still managed to give me a B. The class was fun, especially the play at the end but his grading is very harsh.

I learned so much in his class that has improved my writing and scholarship applications. He is available to help with projects and he very clear on what he expects. I recommend him for any English class.

Tough but fair is the best way I can describe him. He doesn't assign a lot of work, but expects what he does assign to be done well. If you're looking for an easy A, this isn't your professor. But if you want to learn how to write a good paper, take Leonard Winograd.

I took him for Comp II. He is wickedly intelligent on a wide variety of topics (undoubtedly due to the fact that he reads countless research papers). He is tough on grading, but an A is certainly attainable if you follow his very specific instructions. He gives you multiple opportunities to get feedback, until your paper has met his standard.
