Just go to his class, question everything he says and you will get an answer for every question. Knows what he is talking about and wants to share it with you, he believes in sharing information with others, not just facts of history, but also the truth and some of the small stories that aren't said in the textbook. Take his class and you will learn.

Dr. Edmond is probably one of the best professors at St. John's. He knows so much about African/African-American history and history in general! He's a very wise man and personally knew some important people in history (i.e. Malcolm X) I definitely recommend taking this class if you are into conspiracy theories and intense discussions

This is truly one of St. John's gems. Took him for African American History post Civil Rights. I learned so much from this man. There is very little work, you have to read three books and do three presentations on the book. Much easier than it sounds, and you have to write a small paper on Dr. Clark. This class is definitely a GPA booster.Take him!

took him for African American History and he's simply amazing. My interest in the topics at hand always increased and it doesn't even feel much like a class since he talks to you and listens rather than just lectures you endlessly. GREAT professor!

He is hands down the best tracher at St. John's. He is a great man and he is very wise. He has seen alot of things and he likes to share that with his students. He is a simple man and there are 3 assignments in class. If you love sitting around talking about past and present issues this is the class to take. He loves all of his studnets equally.

I really liked the class because the structure is different. Its based on your opinions. You have to talk in the class a lot but its still fun.I thought the professor was ok until I realized he picks his favorites and "treats them better." Pretty easy class though.

Dr. Edmond is great professor. He does not provide a syllabus or give test but you learn so much. I took blk amer hist but we discussed so much more than that. everything from things in the 19th century to present day. he makes you see things differently. you'll learn to see how many events are interrelated. take him if you can!!

Interesting class, but if you are a person who needs a syllabus, exams, and any type of direction to chart their progress this is not the class 4 u! Had to read 3 books and do 3 presentations, but could present whenever with no time limit so most people didn't finish. This class WILL change the way you look at society. TAKE IT!

SJU alumnus who took Dr. Edmond's class the summer before freshman year. He was the best on campus back then. Regardless of your race, TAKE HIS CLASS. You will learn more than you bargained for. His insight on all topics will have you looking at things from a completely different perspective. You'll be smarter just by being in his presence.
