I audited group piano. I wished music was my major and I'd have all classes with Linda. She is the BEST. Hilarious - which alone makes your day. Seeks precision. Barely plays for you but if you get her on the piano for a second - it blows your mind, her talent. Experienced. Kind. REALLY wants you to learn and do well. True teacher, gem of a human!

Comment:

Linda is THE best teacher I have had in my life. She is so warm, funny, precise. She will teach you piano from zero (not easy) and make you the best. Best time learning and 100% recommend. She is the head of the program so for her tests you take it with her but for other sections, she sits in on the tests. She's the one to take music with!

For this class, you get tested twice, once for midterm and once for the final. During my final exam, she exploded after I stumbled on one of the exercises. She had never done this before and it completely threw me off for the rest of the final. It was full-on, red-faced yelling which I believe was both unprofessional and unwarranted.

Comment:

The best teacher I have had in my life. Dr. Linda is very funny but also imparts perfection in piano and great knowledge. She takes extra time to help and if you practice and care, you'll become the best you can be under her tutelage. She loves to teach and her dedication and precision compares to none. I am so grateful to learn from her! AMAZING!

amazing amazing professor. you can go into the class with zero knowledge about what a piano even looks like, and come out knowing all about music theory and how to play. what a fun, funny professor. i wish i could take her class every day. you have to practice to keep up, but she is there to help every step of the way.

Fabulous Professor who really cares to make sure you learn how to play piano. She will take time out of her day for each individual student to make sure they understand what they are playing and why. When taking group piano, Linda should be the only choice!

She is AMAZING. The BEST piano teacher you could ever have. I had no prior piano experience and she has been very patient with me. You will learn a lot from her. You will get an A in class as long as you practice regularly. Very recommended!

first of all, anyone who gave her low ratings probably wanted to take the class because they thought it was a fun walk in the park and an easy A. she is the best piano teacher i've ever had (i've had her in group piano for a few years now). the more advanced you become, the more useful she is in helping you play pieces expressively.

I took the one for non-music majo and I loved her! She's nice and helpful...the class could be a little intimidating if you've never had any experience before, but she's pretty patient as long as you show improvement! Keep practicing and you'll do fine!

When I finished my final exam, she told me she was surprised at how well I'd done because "most voice majors don't bother to practice." Not at all the kind of attitude I'd like to see in a professor, but so common at BU.
