You take a lot of notes but she gives a study guide for each test and she makes herself available for help. Just participate and ask for help if you need it and you will be ok.

Comment:

95% of the class is taking PHL 101 not because they want to but because the University requires it. She states that she knows this, yet on exams she grades strict and on assignments she grades fairly. Poor grading for a class that is all based on opinions. Just listen to how many times she says "I think" in class.

I had an "A" going into the final. I thought I did well on the final and expected an "A" in the course. Linda Paul graded "objectively" and dropped my overall grade to a "B". When I challenged her she said it was her opinion and she would not consider reviewing the content. I lost alot of respect for her as an educator.

Comment:

She teaches a solid class. The work doesn't always take too long to complete, but you do need to do it. If you're having trouble understanding a reading or writing a paper, she makes herself extremely available to her students. If you take advantage of this, and take her class seriously, you'll do well.

Such a nice person. She gives a lot of assignments, but most of them are short and really do help in the long run (especially the extra credit assignments towards the end of the semester). She definitely knows what she's talking about, and is really excited about what she teaches. She also makes herself very available to students for questions.

Very nice lady and is willing to help you with the papers you have to write. But don't expect to get a good grade on them if you don't put at least a couple hours or more to writing them or she will tear you a new one.

Dr. Paul is helpful when it comes to the material. She gives great examples. I recommend to be at every class, take the short 1 page papers very serious, and to read (because you get bonus points for participation). Many people hate this class because of her tests, but all you have to do is take the short papers serious and exand on the tests.

Dr. Paul is awesome. She trys to expand our small minds into something beautiful... It is very obvious she cares about making the material clear to us. Great lecturer and interesting human being. Also, vegans are fantastic.

Dr. Paul is a great professor. She's very opinionated, but never pushes her opinions onto you. Most of the time, you don't even know what her opinions are. There is a lot of reading, but you can get away with not reading most of it. She gives you the essays for the exam beforehand. All you have to do is remotely pay attention.

She is a wonderful Prof whose ratings on this website don't do her justice. Her presentation of the material reaches all minds and does so in a very student-friendly way. It isn't hard to do well as long as you read what you have to, study a little for the exams and show up ready to open your mind to new ideas and questions. You'll enjoy this one.
