Dr. Briggs is an amazing professor. She has a vast background and an impressive resume. EDM440 & EDM441 are a combination of English & Emergency Management. This was one of the most helpful courses I've taken at WCU. I highly recommend taking these courses early in the EDM program. Dr. Briggs gave great feedback and was a wealth of information.

Very knowledgeable. The course is more like an English course, but with a specilization in emergency management. Papers are not too difficult, but good luck getting an "A".

Shes an amazing person, however, extremely boring. Covers topics excessively, and can be quite repetitive. Great stories just classes seems to drag on when cover topics excessively.

Dr. Briggs gives a class on English basically, it's redundant information on how to cite your sources in APA and how to find research papers and journal articles online. You write papers based on a topic you've chosen, and the lectures are super boring unless she's talking about her experiences with her dogs.

Dr. Briggs is the bomb. She's very caring and super funny. Yes, there are notes and papers to write. We did a lot of research and major assignments were graded hard. Do the work! Turn things in on time! Show up. She works with you as best she can and loves an active class. I took her at 9:30 in the morning and the class got me ready for the day!

Dr. Briggs cares about her students. Her lectures are filled with funny stories from her own experiences in law enforcement and search and rescue, and all of her assignments have incredibly detailed rubrics telling you what to do and when to do it. She's an excellent, compassionate, and entertaining teacher who wants the very best for her students.

Briggs is literally the best. She gives you rubrics that are incredibly specific, if you do what the rubric says, you will make a good grade. She is there for you whenever you need her, values participation, and really makes you want to learn. She also has the best stories. I would take all of my classes with her if possible, she is amazing.

Dr. Briggs is absolutely incredible. I would strongly recommend her for any Criminal Justice classes. She is not only passionate about her job, but also her students. I am going to take as many of her classes as possible. She has very few assignments and tries very hard to make it impossible to fail. If you come to class it's impossible to fail!

By far the best Criminal Justice Professor at WCU. She will bend over backwards to help you succeed; she wrote the textbook for the class, if that doesn't show dedication to the student then I don't know what does. She is a morning person and will help you in any way she can. I would take every class of hers.

Dr. Briggs is extremely passionate about everything she teaches even if it doesn't seem like the most entertaining subject. I wish I could take more classes with her but sadly she only teaches the beginning CJ classes. She is awesome and is ALWAYS willing to help everyone when they ask for it. She is without a doubt the best CJ professor at WCU.

This class is overall a lot of redundant review on how to appropriately cite research sources. One thing I noticed though and was not happy about is that Dr.Briggs is often very vague in what exactly the assignment is that you are supposed to do.

She's really nice and there really aren't a lot of assignments, but she never gives you a definite date of when anything is due or what you need to do for each assignment. Even when you ask a question about it she responds with, "You know whatever you feel is best" Not very clear or helpful at all!

You can't make Research class any more entertaining but she really does try her best. Shes very enthusiastic about teaching and knows her material. I'd would take another class by her. She is pleasant to look at, and she's one two professors I know of in the department without a mustache so thats nice. Research is still boring but she really does t

The best teacher in CJ, the best publisher and professor at WCU! Not only is she "eye candy" but she will help you out the best she can. Don't expect hand outs, but she's fair and by far my favorite teacher out of the four years I spent at WCU! Take her for everything you can, victimology, research, intro, anything possible!!!
