Comment:

Wilson is a really brilliant individual and he really encourages students to share their ideas about the content in class. His teaching style is fresh and interesting and he's not uncomfortable sharing his experiences as they pertain to the lessons. I wish that every professor were more like him.

Comment:

I took three classes with Dr Wilson, and he's one of my favorites at Smith. Tremendously interesting material, quite a bit of reading, great lectures, material I've never studied, and he's kind, caring and tremendously interesting. Just his educational and career journey is fascinating to hear.

Comment:

Literally the best professor at Smith. Has changed my outlook on race and race related media. Definitely have a great connection with him. You will feel like he is your friend which makes the material much more engaging. He can stand up and talk for hours with no notes and it all makes perfect sense. he is a genius.

Fairly easy class (Southern African History 1600-1900) with interesting material. He was several minutes late each class, but so was I. :) Didn't particularly develop a repertoire with him, but didn't go out of my way to do so either.

A wonderful man! Class is not so hot, but he is an amazing resource outside of class, and is willing to spend hours talking, or giving out books/movies/etc. Recommended, although class discussions have a tendency to be very disjointed.

Wilson is just okay for me. I can't decide if I like him or not. He likes to choose favorites and tends to allow those students more "air time" in his class. If you don't mind being second or third rate to the class favorites, or being ignored completely, then, by all means, take his class. If you're looking to be a super star, keep it moving..
