Comment:

Very theoretical professor. Focuses on the book, formulas and theory a lot. On the test you get asked to explain some things that you havent gone over in class. She expects you to figure some stuff kn your own. Class average was a C in all three claases that she taught, so I think that tells more about her than the students.

Investments was an alright class. The tests were more or less like the homework (5 hmwk assignments). The final to me seemed impossible and dropped me from an A to a B+. There's an extra credit stock trading assignment with a write-up that bumps you up a letter grade

This is the first review I have ever done and there is a reason why I am doing it. BEWARE. She rushes through everything and she just says what you do, doesn't teach. There's a difference. This class is for very smart people that can keep up with her pace. She rushes a whole concept every class. Half the class dropped after the first exam. Fire her

Has little or no industry experience but cares enough for students that are struggling. To subsidize, you'd get the same experience by visiting your local library and setting up a coffee date talking about the markets.

A tough class, but if you attend (which she has made NON-mandatory), take good notes, ask questions, and do the homework, you will do well. Midterm and final questions are a variation of the homework. Do them! For the group project, just do the required trades and sum up what happenednot difficult.

Don't like her teaching style. She is unapproachable and so hard to follow. She writes tiny on the board, and half your class will most likely drop the class after the midterm. Hopefully your portfolio group doesn't because then you have to do the 12 page paper by yourself. good luckkkk

Great instructor. Wants you to actually learn the logic and reasoning behind investing concepts. Difficult but do-able course if you go to class and take notes on everything she says. 2 exams, cumulative but reasonable final, and 5 homework assignments. Exam questions come from homework-like problems presented in a different style.

Tough class, exams require a lot of preparation, so don't be like myself and try to wing the 1st exam. She unclear at times and it gets confusing, but shes willing to help. Very nice lady,but tough class. I'm not sure what her curve is, but I ended with a B+ after getting subpar grades on my all my exams except one!

Honestly, one of the best professors I have had in almost 3 full years of school. She is really smart and provides extremely detailed info in her lectures. Homework and tests aren't very hard IF you take good notes in class and study. I really wish she taught more classes. She tries to make lectures about dull topics more interesting.

Ms. Hong's option class is much more difficult than her investments class. There is only two tests 40% each, and there is alot of material to study. It is not as easy as investments, so dont blow off the first test. The book is needed for this class.

She knows her stuff. If you are a Finance major you should take her. Tests require alot preparation. Her homework and lectures are a large part of tests. Book not so much. GO TO CLASS AND TAKE NOTES. She is tough, but not impossible. I wish she taught more finance classes here.

Amazing prof, wish every teacher was like her. Her style of teaching is challenging, thought provoking. Its not easy, but you are really learning. Time flies in her class, brings real life examples to class.Recomended if you are in to elarn!!!
