Good class to take if youre looking for an easy A. He talks a lot off topic and isnt very organized but the material is pretty easy so you dont really need to come to class anyways. He assigns a lot of homework but you dont actually need to do the majority of it. If you just showed up to take the tests youd probably be fine.

His teaching style is wildly erratic and he does not follow the syllabus/lesson plan he gives out at the beginning of the semester AT ALL. If thrive with an organized teacher, this is not the professor for you. He also shows up late to the majority of his class periods. Attendance is not required. Just be there to take the tests and youll be fine.

Luis is my favorite teacher that I have ever had in all of my schoolings. He TRULY cares for each and every one of his students and has a strong desire for whatever the student may be working towards. He has office hours where he will stay late if you are wanting to keep going. If every professor could be like Luis, everyone would go to school.

Great professor! He is super understanding of his students individual circumstances and sets you up for success so don't be afraid to go to him when you need help or have an issue. I knew several non-native Spanish speakers who were weary about taking such a difficult course but Luis worked work them and they were ultimately successful.

This is the second class I've taken w Luis. He is very friendly, warm, likable, speaks clear Spanish and approachable. His style of teaching, at times, is Socratic. Por ejemplo, he may start a conversation w you, seemingly to get to know you better. Pero, por supuesto, it is a learning opportunity. Inviting. helps students succeed.

I have taken his class for 3 semesters straight, I absolutely love him! A fabulous teacher, I am even considering taking his classes again to brush up on some Spanish skills for no credit. He is constantly making the class laugh, and keeps everyone involved. His is among the few favorite teachers I have, I would give him a million stars.

I had him for Spanish 3 in the summer & definatly wish I would of token him for a longer semester! He is by far my favorite teacher at cabrillo. You feel comfortable in his class; time goes flying! He's hilarious. Expects participation by everyone. Super understanding. Literally, feels like if you're talking to your friend not a professor.

Mr. Compoginis is an amazing teacher. I was scared taking a Spanish class at first, he made me feel so comfortable taking it. His lectures are amazing and funny. His tests and quizzes are so easy, he's the number one Spanish teacher at Cabrillo. his classes are the first to go, so register early. I can't wait to take a Spanish class with him again

This dude is Cool. If you want an easy class, worth 5 CREDITS - then this guy will help you learn spanish at a nice slow and fun pace. Most people stay with him through spanish 4. He can get off topic sometimes - probably cause he would get bored otherwise, but he's overall really nice and you can do well in this class.

Seriously the funniest teacher at Cabrillo! Classes are super chill and he's very relaxed about turning in assignments, doing tests, grading, etc. It's more like hanging out with friends for 2 hours instead of going to class, yet you still learn all the course work easily. Too bad there's no more advanced Spanish classes or I would take him again!

Luis is such a sweet man. Definitely take this class... Although it's an easy A, really stay on top of things because he is a respectable man. Im so fortunate to have taken his course last semester... He understands all situations. He lets class get out early most of the time too.

He's friendly and eager to offer help, but his class was not very challenging. Mostly just review of Spanish 1 and 2. Not a lot of variety of activities, and not enough speaking practice. The class was kind of the same every day. It got monotonous really quickly. He talks, you listen.

Communicate with Luis and respect him. Prepare your homework prior to class, attend every meeting and you will succeed! The key to success in his classes is to let him know if you are falling behind. He will help you if you reach out to him. Luis wants you to pass and will make every effort for you to do so!

Luis is a good choice. That said, his class is mostly review for anyone that has taken Span2. His method of instruction is ok. Some might find it confusing because at times he can be all over the place. He's a good instructor; however, the class is not very challenging and does not cover very much new material.

TAKE THIS TEACHER! Granted, I had taken spanish in high school so this class was mainly review, but his workload is super manageable for a 5 unit class, and he is really laid back and tests are short and easy. We even had a take home final. Needless to say.. take this teacher for any and all spanish classes.

Comment:
Very laid back teacher and will make accommodations for students if there is open communication. Perhaps not the best teacher if someone is looking to strictly learn the language as Luis tends to go on long, albeit interesting, tangents that have more to do with culture than the language itself.
