Comment:

After taking previous classes with Dr. Cassell, I thought this class would be just as easy. Our group spent 2 hours (out of class) on answering questions, twice a week. We did 2 group projects that require you to present for the entirety of the class period. The only thing that matters in this class is how much you participate.

Comment:

This guy has his class so loose he can pass or fail you for no reason. The class has no structure and his accent is thick. Tests are on stuff not covered in lecture or in the book. And the average grade for the class is around a 30%. Avoid this one. If his rude and abrasive teaching method doesn't get you the double standard with grading will.

He knows his subjects very well. He encourages deeper learning . He works with you if you show you are putting forth effort to learn the subject. I would recommend this professor if you really want to learn something, if you don't, then you do not want to take him.

Excellent Quality Professor. Not so great if you have an OCD personality. you will work but you will learn. I was very overwhelmed at first but once I relaxed and just focused on listening to lecture and PARTICiPATING in class, I was good to go. He grades heavily on class participation.

Comment:

Cassell makes this introductory course much more tedious and difficult than necessary. He constantly interrupts groups during presentations by asking abrupt questions. He had one girl in tears in my class, and her group took about 2 class periods to complete their presentation due to his constant interrogation. I would avoid him.

Would highly recommend this class to anyone who is interested in learning management. This class is challenging. However, you will learn if you put the effort into it. If you are committed to receiving the best education possible, this is the professor who will take you serious as a student!

This was another great learning opportunity with DR. Cassell. His style is very different,but he makes sure you have an understanding of the material that he assigns. He doesn't allow you to disagree with what someone has to say unless you can back it up with facts. If you are a slacker stay away from his classes. These are for hard workers.

He is a great educator, I recommend him to anyone taking mngt. classes. He makes you work for what you get, and teaches you what to expect in the real business world. He helped me learn more about myself as well as about mngt. He was very helpful and alway available to help when I needed it. If every on allowed students to learn like he does. WOW!

I have taken four classes from DR. Cassell. He without a doubt is the best professor I've had in any course. Six other students that I know have taken the same classes from him as myself. No it not a class that will be an easy A, be prepared to work hard. He creates a learning environment unlike any other instructor that I have had at Fairmont.

If business is interesting to you, this class is awesome. Dr. Cassell is not hard to understand, and very willing to repeat himself and often does so if he even suspects he is misunderstood. He expects you to understand the material, not memorize definitions. EXCELLENT TEACHER, unique and challenging. Not for slackers.

Dr. Cassel is very hard!!! His test are almost impossible.. He is late everyday but expects you to be on time. Alot of group work so he dont have to teach. I didnt learn anything from the class expect how blacks and whites are different. He reminds you every day that it is his class room and everything goes his way!!

Way too much work for a bad grade. Worked 2-3 hours per chapter out of class and got a C! Hardest final Ive had in 4 years of college. 20 Chapters. Closed Book. Closed Notes. Impossible! I'd avoid him at all costs!

I had him for International Business Online. You cover the whole book. The quizzes are hard! I spent 2-3 hours per chapter making an outline to get an A on the quizzes. He then assigned group work and I didnt get any help from my group and got a 55/100 on it. The final was comprehensive. Closed Notes. Closed Book. Hardest test Ive ever taken!

Dr. Cassell is very hard to understand. I am used to west virginia accents and his african accent makes it hard to understand what he is saying. He attempts to write things on the board but his chicken scratch is illegible. I would not recomend his class to anyone.

I would not take Cassell again for an ONLINE class. You strictly teach yourself from the book. You will have no idea how you are doing in the class until your final grade is posted, if you ask for feedback you won't get it. He does not participate in the online discussion to help "teach" studends. You teach yourself straight from the book.

This guy is one of the hardest teachers at FSU no doubt. However if you are already interested in what he's teaching you will love it. He's very laid back but he expects that you take his classes as though you were majoring in business. So if you are then he's great if you just need the credit you better find another class.

Comment:

Stay as far away from this guy as possible; he's a joke. Took him for online class and he makes you read 2 chapters a week, then take a 10 question quiz on the chapters. You only have 10 mins to take the quizzes. You also have to participate in stupid online discussions which everyone just copies each other anyway. Then he takes 7 weeks to grade.
