As a person, he's okay but as a professor, not so much. He teaches as though you are already familiar with the subject. Also, he doesn't really use any powerpoints so his lectures are kind of all over the place. As long as you put in some effort you'll pass but get a different professor if you can.

Very test heavy class, two mid terms and a final worth a combined 80%. However very little homework that is a completion grade. He rambles a lot during his lectures about stuff that doesn't matter, really all you need to do is read the book and do the homework and you'll be fine.

Really great professor. Accounting is hard a bit boring but professors can make it manageable by creating tests that reflect the homework which is exactly what Nourayi does. He does not like lazy people or people who are on their phones during class! Go to office hours and he'll explain any concept again. Very intelligent.

Comment:

Mahmoud is a nice person and actually very helpful outside of class. However, being in the actual class is pointless. If you just read the book though its not that bad. He lectures about topics nobody understands and makes the material even more confusing than it actually is. Just read the textbook.

Comment:

Avoid this teacher if you can. The only reason his class actually fills up is because its a required class and he is the only option. Hard to understand his English, gives unclear directions, tests are very hard, and seems to go after you if you aren't doing well (instead of helping). Just do yourself a favor and avoid.

Nourayi is a great professor. Participation matters so show up to class and speak up a few times. You definitely need to show up to learn the material since it can be confusing. His tests are straightforward, but difficult, as all accounting is. He gives opportunities for extra credit and curves the grades as well.

Dr. Nourayi's exams are very straightforward . If you pay attention during the class, practice the handout problems, and do the homework, you won't have a problem succeeding in this course. He wants to make sure that you understand the fundamentals and real world applications of Cost Accounting. Great professor!

Terrible class. The quizzes are completely hit or miss even if you do the reading. The final is easy with the study guide, but keep in mind most of what's on the study guide isn't taught in class or in the book, so you have to look online for the answers. I barely scraped by with a B. Don't worry though, BADM 1020 is much better.

He is never in class, and tries to control every aspect of the class even though he never taught a single section. I barely got an A- in the class. There is homework every week., quizes every couple weeks, 1 Final, which sucked and was vague. Show up every week, do your hw, participate every now and again and you should be fine. Hard to talk with.

This class is not taught by this professor. He has assistants, you have a new teacher every 2 weeks. The quality of the class overall was good. 2 of the 3 assistants were clear and interesting, one talked too fast and was confusing. Pay attention to lectures and do hw. I never read the book. The final was a breeze with study guide.

you must participate atleast 9 times to receive full credit for participation, however your competing with 50 other ppl to get called on 9 times for only 3 class periods. the final is impossible. so even if you have 100% in the class like me, you can still end up with a 74% if you bomb the final.. its 50% of your grade. he doesnt curve the final
