It's a very one sided class. Be prepared to have your point of view shut down.

Pohlmann is by far my favorite professor I've ever had. Favorite class, hands down. But not for non-majors bc it's fairly challenging. It's a TON of reading and you really have to understand it too, but you literally learn so much. He is the smartest person I've ever met.

I have loved this class even with the large amounts of reading required for every class. Pohlmann is super passionate about his courses and really wants to share that with his students. When I was struggling with the quizzes, I met with him and he made me feel more confident and gave great advice. Highly recommend.

Hands down one of the best professors I have had at Rhodes. The class was amazing and he kept everyone on their toes the whole time. Beware of him if you are not a poli sci major. Definitely not a professor to take for a GPA boost. If you work for it, an A is very manageable. Pohlmann is the man.

Professor Pohlmann's constitutional law class is, hands down, the best class I have ever taken. You MUST take this professor. He is funny as hell and absolutely brilliant.

The hardest and most significant part of this class is the Supreme Court roles you are placed into. From making a case, to trying a case, to being a judge of another's case, you will feel closed to qualified to being in the SCOTUS regardless of your future role

THE GREATEST PROFESSOR EVER...for polisci majors. He's not easy. Lots of reading and daily quizzes. But he grades fairly and is extremely helpful. Classes are almost entirely discussion, mostly done by students. If really want to learn and aren't a slacker TAKE HIS CLASSES!!

Greatest professor ever....for polisci majors. He's not easy. You have to read a LOT of material and he's gives very detailed quizzes on the material everyday. Class is absolutely brilliant. He asks a probatory question and then allows the students to discuss it. Definitely recommend for majors and some non-majors.

Interesting class but LOTS AND LOTS of reading that you must keep up with because he has quizzes (with very specific questions) every class. and 40% of your grade is based off of these. sometimes you will have 98 pages of reading due that you must read carefully and take detailed notes.

ConLaw with Pohlmann is a great class. He is not my favorite professor, but he is passionate about the material, explains it well, and is very open to student discussion/opinion. Has high expectations for the midterm, the brief, and the final. If you work hard, it will pay off. This class would be pretty intense for non-majors.

Daily quizzes on assigned readings, which can be pretty long and biased. He's a lot more open-minded than the texts, though. He leads by asking questions, but the discussion is almost entirely done by the students. He doesn't try to persuade you to accept any side, but asks questions that make you think about your position. Very interesting!

Take him if you're a poli sci major. You'll get a lot out of his lectures. If you're a non-major and looking for an easy elective, DON'T take Pohlman!
