Comment:

Dr. Murphey is a great teacher, and I really enjoyed taking his class. Some of his questions can be very tricky, and the tests are usually pretty long. I recommend printing out the power points and taking extra notes on them during class. Overall a very brilliant, funny, and helpful professor. Attendance is taken, and participation is recommended.

Comment:

By far my favorite! His class isnt a give me but with a little effort you can make a very high grade. He is hilarious and explains things well. His tests are long but they have several bonuses and he throws humor in that as well. I highly recommend him!

Comment:

Professor Murphy is great at what he does. My only criticism is him being often absent, although it was always for a good reason. You also never knew what he was asking for, with vague questions and little patience during his open participation quizzes. I took a public speaking class, and there was decent material and we had some nice discussions.

If you don't study EVERYTHING you won't pass the test you can't study the day before the text and expect to pass he will give you a few extra credit opportunities he has a sine of humor so laugh at his jokes and he will like you

If you're an animal science major, just learn to love him because you'll be interacting with him a lot. Print off his powerpoint slides before you get to class, and take notes on them during the lecture. Make notecards and memorize. Memorize terminology. Go to hog barn days. Bonus opportunity on every test.

Dr. Murphey is a great guy. He expects a lot from his students but is always willing to help them succeed. Make sure you participate in class and get to know him; he will be more willing to help you if he sees you putting in effort. Tests come straight from power points and lectures so don't miss class.

Great teacher but really really makes you work for it. Hes pretty hilarious and likes to pick on students but he means well. DO NOT SKIP CLASS, he will fail you. Willing to give bonus through manual labor.

I love Murphey! He is a good hearted guy and truly cares for his students. If your willing to help him out on the farm you're almost certain to form a connection with him. He is there for anything you need. His class is easy enough if you show up and study moderately, but it is totally worth it having him as a teacher! Happy he is my advisor too!!

He's not the best professor out there. his notes are really confusing and he will say things in class that wont be on the notes but will be on the test which is so annoying. He is very disorganized so its hard to stay along and study.

A fantastic teacher. He is very funny. Most of the time you can just pay attention and get decent grades. But I would advise not to skip class. He does not really give out any extra credit, though. He also will tell you the first day you wont use the book so dont bother.

TAKE THIS LAB IF YOU'RE THINKING ABOUT BECOMING A VETERINARIAN. I cannot stress that enough. This lab will either make you or break you. It's hard work, and you have to be involved. Tons of hands-on experience with the Tech Farm animals (even if you dont think you want to work with livestock animals--do it just for the experience/knowledge)

Tests came straight from the powerpoints/notes. They're multiple choice, short answer, true/false, and usually some listing. Knowing about those old western TV shows will help you answer bonus questions. The class is easy, but his tests do require a little studying. Murphey is a pretty funny guy and he speaks from experience so it isnt boring.

I have taken him for multiple animal science classes. He is very funny and a great teacher. Sometimes he grades hard though. But, he just wants to make sure you are getting a good education. Also, I cant help but think of Peter Griffin every time I see him.
