A petulant personality, she administered the class with very difficult "pop quizzes" and a difficult final exam. The case law analysis she provided was poor and her classes did not prepare you for the evaluations. A frustrating, demoralizing class especially with the amount of studying you had to put into the course.

If only you had your choice of 1L professors, is all I'll say. If you have Professor Coombs, be prepared for a ton of reading that is interesting but incoherent. Virtually no clarity added from classroom discussions. And regarding grades, just prepare for bad news and feeling surprised.

Stay Away! Odd personality which comes off as condescending and rude. Doesnt call on people fairly. Unclear in explanations, lots of reading which isnt a bad thing but horrible grader. 1Ls cant choose but if u get her be prepared. Stay up on reading and really focus for the final - she has certain expectations on how you write.

Took family law with her, got an OK grade. Shes rude in class and calls students out badly if they are not prepared. Material is not hard if you keep up but I would never take another class with her, I just don't like her attitude

The class size is VERY small, therefore if you don't do the readings you're in trouble for class discussion. Your grade is based on class participation, 7 essays on the reading and a final exam. Two of the essays are 4-6 pages while the others are short 1 page responses. At times class can be boring but she is very knowledgeable in the subject.
